Nobody is saying that it's all on Benitez though, even those pro-benitez have to admit his whole plan, or lack of one is baffling. Benitez has so many factors that he could be given time due to, yet hwe's still managed to alienate the fans, alienate his players and take us backwards.

The injuries excuse only stretches so far.

For weeks I defended him to be honest. Whether it was the injuries , bad luck, terrible squad etc. I still believe what I thought 2 months ago when this tailspin started.

However I have also seen him poorly manage games as well during this time , games where a positive change may not have won us the game or it may have made a hero out of someone. Brentford with his 3 strikers on the bench comes to mind.

As I say it's lose lose. If these results carry on you have to sack him. However , it just continues the cycle that has seen us get worse because the next manager needs to get results fast and sign players with no money, otherwise we are right back here again, minus the kopite hate (or maybe with it, knowing the owner).

Both sides are valid, he needs time and money but he also isn't justifying giving him that either.

….a great old manager of mine told me the best managers don’t take off their best players because they win matches even when not playing well. Things like that stick in your mind.

Richarlison off for Rondon will not only isolate the fans, it will further isolate the players. They won’t respect a man who has an agenda linked to his ego.

Read an article last week that said Richarlison feels like he owes Benitez because he let him go to the Olympics (and you could see that on Monday night).

Yes, I'm not saying Moshiri isn't to blame here... I'm saying we can't have the mindset of it doesn't matter who the manager is. That mindset could get us relegated this season.

These same players, bar what was brought in, were in the the European spots at this point of the season under Ancelotti. We’ve looked more fragile defensively since Benitez came in, that’s on him

Clough was right though. Benitez hasn't been right since he was at Valencia; even his one crowning moment since then came in spite of his plan, not because of it.

Should never hav ebeen appointed in the first place. Sacking managers regularly is a bad trend but if you make a decent appointment and at least amke one the fans will give time, this would never be an issue. We can't NOT get rid of someone who is cancerous to thje club purely because we've gotten rid of a few already.

Nobody on this forum believes we should be top 6. Not one soul. I think its fair to say most on this forum expect a lot more, even with injuries than what we are getting. This is worse than Martinez, Silva, Koeman.
