We look a bigger mess that under either of those

Imo

The Koeman season was worse, that side had absolutely no quality in it. Niasse was our top scorer from open play with 8 that season. When we went 2-0 down at home to Watford under Unsworth I honestly thought we were down.

We looked favourites to go down under Silva and Koeman. Players had completely given up. Had we carried on it looked highly likely we would have been relegated. At the moment it’s just not the same scenario. We’re in mid table.

Yeah, we've taken 4 points from the last three games. Silva and Koeman could have bought themselves more time with a similar set of results after bad runs. But alas, they just stayed in freefall. Both were into their second season also.

You can carry on about individual results if you like but we had 8 points from 9 games when he was sacked.

Now we’ve 19 from 17 which is actually worse because it’s the same level of bad over a much longer period.

But if Koeman had been kept on and we were picking up points at the same rate then we’d actually be on 16 points from 17 games which is less than we have now???

We look a bigger mess now than under either of those

Imo

We really don’t. They’d had 18 months, three transfer windows, and everything was getting worse and worse whilst we were in the bottom 3.

Benitez has been here a few months, the majority of the players aren’t his, and we’re not in the bottom 3.

How are these positions similar?
