because the teams that got relegated last season had 23. 26 and 28 points and the teams getting relegated this season are no better than them.

For perspective, that 13 points in the final 10 games averages out at 1.3 points per game, whereas Newcastle were averaging 0.86 per game for the first 28 games.

For perspective it still wasn't good enough and they got relegated when there was plenty of time and points left not to. For further perspective he has just averaged 0.5 points per game for us in the last 12 games.
