A single injury, apparently.

We’re in free-fall and no amount of returns from injury have arrested it.

If only our mythical first eleven being fit can save us, we’re in huge trouble.
No because his shiny new better players will cover any new injuries.

I'm not that one track minded to just rely on players being fit.

Its why if Benitez is booted we need Jose Mourinho if we go down the road of another disciplinarian - he's still regarded as a good level manager even if he's past his best days.
We might as just well burned the club down ourselves then cut Jose a personal cheque for £10m. Save on the carbon footprint of him flying back over here for 15 minutes before he goes full nuclear the minute he doesn't get everything he wants.

And Townsend who were both instrumental in supplying a fully fit DCL early in the season.

Not exactly the same circumstances.

Should have beaten them though.

The problem is though mate that it's like saying Benitez can only be judged when he has a fully fit squad to pick from, unfortunately footy isn't like that because injuries are all part of the game.

Couldn't the same be said about the Burnley game, they went in 1 -0, they coasted and missed a couple of good chances in the first half , we had that spell in the second half where we scored 3 times in 6 minutes, wasn't that a freak spell mate?
Indeed it was, which proves my point.

Whilst the following game against Villa was also a bit of a freak result for the same reason (imo) it was certainly less of a freak than the Watford match, which has recently been a focus and a stick to beat Benitez with.

Yes they are mate but he also can't be blamed for the actual state this club is in.

We have been calling for this type of culling for years and if it was anyone else doing it with these results they wouldn't be getting as much flack. Well maybe now they would but not from October when it started for him.

Problem is - no good manager "on the up" will touch this club with a bargepole!
Any decent manager with a plan and some ambition is most likely going to want to be in the Prem - richest league in the world, most popular etc etc. Only 20 can be here. Excluding the salaries Moshiri is willing to pay, I don't buy the idea that no good manager would be interested in us. We're a mess of a club right now, sure, but it's a top job in the top league and a big-name club. I'd bet plenty would take this job if it was seriously offered.

Can agree with that mate, but results are his domain and that's something we can lay at his door.

You honestly think anyone else with our worst form for 30 years wouldn't get as much flak?

They'd get more because they wouldn't have this legion of white knights defending them because they feel it is their duty to protect the man because they're aggrieved people didn't want him for his kopite past.

I'd say 50/50 with the players to be honest.

Take the Brighton game for example. He will have drilled them all week to play a certain way. We were terrible in the 1st half. Second half I was expecting changes. None happened and we came out and played much better and should have scored more than 2. Now what I don't get is how can the players do it in one half but not the other? Did they not believe it would work? They proved it did in the 2nd half. This is why the players should also shoulder the blame.
