Boss man has taken us to the top of the table, but a striker injury crisis means we are practically sitting ducks at OT and it's asking Townsend, Gray and Doucoure a bit too much to provide the counter attacking punch we'd need to make a smash and grab.

West Ham is our next game in my mind. I've already moved on to the international break.
Oh but they've so much fume to give. The anger, the bile. They will disregard our record over 30 years at old Trafford. Ignore no strikers. Thier 120 million v our 1.5. Thier christiano Ronaldo. And by god they will fume.

And it'll be hilarious.

I could never lower my expectations this low.

I guess its true, once you go kopite you never go back.
Its pragmatism.

We dont have the squad to withstand a strikeforce being out of action against a team like United. Norwich, yes...and I stated we'd beat them with ease. United? No. That isn;t going to happen.

Lets's just get this game out the way and the international break behind us and re-convene after that to take on WHU and target our next points.

Lets just run up the white flag , bend over and lube up.

Sounds like " knife to a gunfight "

Yonks since ive heard that like.

That's why it was important for Everton to be so well placed before this game. We aren't desperate, we can take the hit against United and stay up there in the table, and we can move on in three weeks with our strikers back and get the points against West Ham.

We endure next Saturday's game. We move on from it and we get back on track for 17th October. That;s how we have to approach this...and I think the vast majority of Everton supporters see it that way too.

Its defeatism.

Could never be me.

But hey, you said you would be happy to finish 14th, so I guess it is what it is.

Exactly....Even with a full squad available it would be and has been for many years very difficult for Everton to get a result at Man U. Can’t see why a defeat at Man U under Benitez can be used as a stick to beat him with. Can anyone honestly say they have been confident of victory at Man U in recent years or even decades?
