can't vouch for the accuracy of this info, I don't know the source, but there's no doubt that the Saudis have a ton of money and if they want to blow people away with it, that's the way of the world

Would they go for him? It was him who got Amanda Staveley on board in the first place, he is her top priority. He's always been their number 1 target.

The question is, would he leave here? He's turned the majority of fans around to supporting him, has said that he's enjoying the club and he lives the owners.

It's a case of Staveley Vs Usmanov/Moshiri
Adios Senor Benitez.

From what I see Newcastle’s income isn’t any greater than ours, if anything it was a little lower. They will still face financial constraints.
Yes it seems strange how they all think they will spend millions overnight. I have no doubt they will spend, apparently they aren’t in debt according to Simon Jordon so can spend and not worry for 3 years.

The issue is everyone they go for the price will go through. The roof. Warren Barton on talksport saying go and get Sterling, but does he want to have his peak years at a club, hoping to break the top 4 straight away. Another mentioned Philips from Leeds, but he’s an England international now, he’s probably looking at champions league clubs.

Do they try for a few older players first like Koulibaly and then a few younger players from the prem they could possibly attract. Sarr, Raphina, Neto, Watkins? Maybe Toney.

On another point. When Moshiri took over I remember the Esk’s saying there was some rule about you could only increase your wage bill 7mil a season and you can only improve that figure on extra revenue from ticket sales, a new improved sponsorship deal or profit on sales. And the Esk, who I’ve been a big critic of him and hes got loads wrong. But he did say we would have to sell to be able to up the wages. And we sold Stones in that first sumner

I know I’ve gone off on one, but doses this 7mil wage thing still exist.

Apparently because they've been so compliant with FFP all these years, they have around 190 mil to spend before they breach FFP.

No, STCC was scrapped a few years ago.

Only Premier League P&L rules matter these days.

No more than 105m losses on the balance sheet in 3 year periods.

Your saying that but there is a wage structure now in place, if I'm right in thinking that's only 70% of your income, it's not how rich your owners are, it's based on your clubs income, commercial deals etc.

Yes UEFA are changing their ruling from Profit and Loss over 3 years to a wage cap of 70% of your turnover.

You go over 70% you pay a luxury tax

You keep going over 70% you face sporting sanctions like currently in place.

Hence why they'll be giving daft sponsers to inflate their turnover.

We'll imo see how deep Usmanov is involved by our stadium naming rights deal in the coming months.

We'll also see if the PL scrap profit and loss to fully mimic UEFA's system or if they just combine the two to make it even harder for us clubs outside the scab 6 to compete.

Yes I know there is that structure in place now and it was like 105mil over 3years for the premier league rules.

But I just remember that first Sumer under Moshiri and there was this 7mil wage figure. It’s was on forums, im sure toffee tv did something with John Blain about it. Maybe that was replaced over the next couple of years

Or do you look at Everton and say “Nah, no thanks”.

Build your foundations and go. Yes, they’ll want a return almost immediately, but what can they expect?

Get some younger players in, avoid your sterling’s of the world who are possibly past their peak and work up, and invest in a few big figures, but not wasters and mercenaries.

We looked at City and went “Oh, go on then”, and fell flat.
