Gray looked injured and personally I think Gordon is too physically weak for the league. I didn’t have a big issue with the subs made.

But to keep Rondon on when we were being overrun in midfield was an actual disgrace.
Davies was knackered, Allan was losing the plot - Holgate is no midfielder but we were absolutely desperate for him to come on and cover the gaps.

And yet he had one the best defense back then with the same zonal marking. Newcastle had the 6th best defense even when they finished 10th after their immediate promotion just 3 years back . What has changed?

Probably having no DCL or Riche and douncs hasn’t helped. Probably are best 3 players for heading in both ends.

Fair enough but its just the same as say, Potter coming into the club or Moyes.

They come in, see the players, decide who will and wont fit and should move those unwanted players on.

Agree Brands cant sell players but surely SOMEONE would have come in for others...even if we had to split wages etc or lower fees.

Its incredible that were not selling players or extending contracts to further amortise fees and open up room to spend on obvious needs.

Forget Diaz, Dumfries, Patterson, AMN

There were other right backs out there and midfielders we could have gone for on loan.

Our failure to sell players is purely and simply that no one wants them at the money they earn presently.They simply aren’t very good at football.

The fact he will be allowed to survive this shows the pathetic state of the club. I want everyone out from owner to manager to DOF to playing squad. We need to start again from scratch with people who want to win on the pitch and not PR campaigns and off the field awards. The club are a joke and I've had enough. Benitez being appointed is bad enough but this is the final straw.

Show some standards and find an identity. This club is a running joke.

Agree to the sentiments but how the hell are we going to do all that? Would we really want the club to just withdraw from competition for the remainder of the season when we have big debts and have started the stadium build? Outside of the homegrown lads, Coleman and maybe Richy, Dom and Doucoure, how many players are just gonna stick around and not play till the summer?

If you think our defending is acceptable then good for you. I think we are a mess and that's strange since we were rock solid last year.

What has changed? The methods were scrapped by Benitez. He is to blame and it's arrogance not to change. He thinks he knows best but he knows nothing about this club.

But isn’t there a possibility that we will look ropey until the players adjust, isn’t that part and parcel of a new manager coming in
