Played 9 league games and had 2 beatings already.

We had an injury crisis last season but the people using that as an excuse now because they love this manager, won't let that be used as an excuse for the previous manager.

I think what @LouReedwalkonthewildside says is absolutely right - the problem isn't the objective reality, but the perceived reality - which is amplified massively by who Benitez is.

I honestly don't know how long rationality can hold... if these 2 defeats turn into 3 or 4, Benitez could be toast very quickly.

From the day their takeover went through, I always thought this might be worth a bet of a pound or two. Any Newcastle fans who don't like their new owners would surely be won over by their Messiah returning.

Can only imagine what Rafael's first press conference would be like: "it is amazing to be back home, with the fans who all love me and I love them and this city and this club; it's where I always would have been if I hadn't been forced at gun point to walk away and go to China for £12m a year".

He might say he wanted to move to a big club aswell…

I said "if things started going tits up" We've won 1 game out of our last 6, so not tits up but not great either.

pretty sure half the fanbase would help Rafael pack and drive him there.

EDIT: if the new owners legit want Rafael and offer to give him a bigger contract, he'll be driving himself there as quick as he can.

I loved Carlo and defended him to the hilt as any good manager needs time when suffering from a depleted squad like ours. I extend the very same courtesy to Senor Benitez. People hoping for yet another managerial change are willfully deluded. We won't be sacking him. He might very well jump to the Head Choppers if he thinks we're sinking fast, but we won't be pushing him. As with Carlo, the manager's faults are the least of the problems besetting this club.

To be replaced by who? ask anyone who wants Rafael out to give a a name they cant, without making a fool of themselves, it will either be a dud, a fossil or someone unrealistic.

We didn’t actually just take Watford’s manager, we wasted 6 weeks chasing him just to get pied off, then got Allardyce. Then we got Silva when he was a free agent the next summer.
