As an Everton fan with two Argentine sons, the only thing that matters is that the next time we play West Bromwich, we can reasonably expect Rondón to do it again.

Rondón had the beating of them before the 2-0.

The Copa America is piss poor.

FM positioning is poor, looks slow, hoofs. Good in air.

QF vs Venezuela
SF vs USA

Tough.

Were you not one of the Argentinians banging his drum when he signed?

I was.

He started brilliantly and has since gone on to nail down a starting berth for the national side.

We would easily get twice what we paid for him. And then some.
Maybe with a good coach who focuses more on defence he will improve but like a share you took a punt on and made a killing, if the right offer came along, I would not be up all night crying into my quilmes.

I think one of the reasons I am no worried about selling Stones is because Mori is going to be one top player, if we keep him. I think a Stones Mori partnership will not have the needed experience, so we need to be looking for a replacement for Jags to partner him. Safe in the knowledge that Mori can cut it for us, we can get top coin for Stones which will also help keep Lukaku.
Looking forward to seeing him develope.

As I said, Martino's "defensive" ideas are trash at best. Our midfield is a freeway for opposing attackers, so no wonder our back four are sometimes bad positioned (especially during counterattacks).

He is. I agree with that. Keeping stones is essential.

lollol if a newcomer who used to play in a league with a completely different tactical approach and still was arguably the best CB in the team is labeled as "overrated", how should we call the "future best CB in the world" after last season?

Are you a fan then?

I love quilmes! No one else knows what it is... Started thinking I'd made the drink up after asking nearly every bar in Liverpool do they sell it only to be greeted with strange looks every time! Also I think Funes has the potential to be one of the best Center backs in the league especially under Koeman but i agree if someone offered double what paid or more I'd sell

River Plate fan and a big fan of all the players that led us to one of the most succesful spells in the club's history.
He's got a mistake in him, not great on the ball and lacks concentration. A better manager may get better out of him, let's hope so. Or flog him.

Funes Mori watched by Barca

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez admits the Catalan club are keeping an eye on Ramiro Funes Mori - but there will be no bid this summer,

Spanish media claimed Fernandez was in attendance as Funes Mori featured in Argentina’s 4-1 Copa America quarter-final win against Venezuela.

He told Sport afterwards:

"He’s a good player and we’ve known him well for a long time, but we’re not going to sign him this summer."

So there you go.

Funes Mori is 25 with one PL season behind him, possibly another 3 seasons until he hits his peak then another 4 at the top, i.e. he's potentially the rock on which we build our defence for the next 7 years. By far from the finished article but someone who can potentially be developed into a top PL defender, and a star World Cup player.

Another player who will no doubt flourish under koeman. If I was stones and Mori I would be rubbing my hands to learn and work under one of the best defenders of his generation.
