Not bothered by this to be honest, he is a disaster waiting to happen in games like this as we saw last year. Yes Williams and Jagielka are a pair of slugs but at least we can trust them to not get themselves sent off.

I'd go three at the back with Holgate and the older pair, with Baines and Lennon out wide. We can't give them space to run into.

Add barry to jags and williams and we are in big big trouble saturday. Its right down the middle as well. Simply too old and slow for the type of football the others play. They will murder us over 90 mins.

I can't believe the hate the lad gets, ffs. He just did his knee in and is another long term absentee from the first team, and it's really rather serious how long that list is getting.

He has played a lot for us and taken part in making the best clean sheet record we've had for a while.

Knee injuries are the worst, at least you guys could show some sympathy like

Stoke looking to bring him in. That would be a big error not stepping in for him. It wouldn't break the bank and he's an upgrade. Job done.

At the risk of going off topic, Robertson (and I like him - I've said plenty of times I'd like us to sign him) isn't an upgrade on Baines.

Look at the four goals Hull conceded against us. He's at fault for two of them.

He's still got a lot to learn defensively but going forward is excellent. He's probably exactly as good as Baines was for Wigan when we signed him back in 2007, albeit without the set-piece ability.

Baines is 32. He's got another season in him at the top at least. He's not as good as he was say in 2012-2014 (undoubtedly his prime) but he's been more than okay this term and your constant slating of him is foolish.

If we got a Robertson, Tierney etc in then I'd be thrilled. We'd have adequate back-up that could legitimate push for a first-team spot and provide our full-back for years to come. But that doesn't mean Baines is finished.

On topic: Mori, hopefully it's not too serious and he's back for the last few weeks of the season - or at least can train by the time pre-season starts.

Weird, this season with injuries, we don't really have seemed to have picked up many niggling injuries (bar McCarthy) to players.

i.e, the injuries we have had have all been long-term and much more to do with 'impact' or freak occurrences.

No massive loss generally, but it means we've no option to sell in the summer, and worse were stuck with jags and Williams on Saturday

We could still sell if he's back for pre-season Tim.

That being said, I'm not sure he would be anyway if we get Europe.

Just means we definitely need to bring two CBs in come summer (Keane and Virjil would be boss pls Walshy)

Looks like a bad one.

Could be out for 4-6 months.

...that's bad news. I dare say the position is the same as Coleman in that his salary will be paid by FIFA. We'll be getting our monies worth off them for the next 12 months.

The reality is that only Coleman is a regular and we might see one or two of the youngsters given game time before the end of the season. They need to grasp their chance if it comes along.
