I think Funes Mori is the perfect quality of player to be playing cup games for us, or games where we need to rest starters. Theres no way he should be starting for us, if we really aim for top 4, but hes tall, good on the ball, a step above the inferior competition we play, and can cover both CB and LB. We do have to realize that if we make Europa league this next season, and we really aim to actually try and win a domestic cup, we DO have to have 2 squads. 1 full of world class players, and the other full of players good enough to come in and win the easier games.

As a Romanian the name also struck me as grim. Mori is definitely a derivate of death/dying, and due to that I also associated "Funes" with "Funerar/Funebru" e.g. Funeral/Funerary. We also have Funie for Rope but that only hit me when I saw that post


Either way, that surname must have one hell of a backstory.
