My take on it @blueloon & @Eggs is that Kenwright doesn't have any transfer targets he recommends himself, but has still negotiated deals for, or on behalf of Brands, Moshiri, Benitez

It's a mess whichever way we look at it.

…I agree, Macca. Although it wouldn’t’ surprise me if he has suggested/pushed for certain deals like when Rooney coming back.

i wouldn’t be surprised if Patterson was largely agreed in the summer & Kenwright tied things up. It does suggest, though, that various parties within the club are involved in transfers which is a bit of a nonsense.

A DoF / manager combination that can properly dovetail would be a huge step forward. Maybe it takes two guys in unity to really stand up to the impulses of Moshiri. The best option is Ashworth / Potter but that seems unlikely. If Planes is interested and likes Roberto then it becomes something worth exploring as a pair. Although if we are going for a Spanish combo Diego might be the more interesting Martinez....

In fact back when Kenwright first appointed Martinez he also interviewed Rangnick potentially as a DoF but Martinez wanted total control and he picked Bobby.
Anyway forget all this Martinez rubbish , grow a pair Mosh and appoint Gallardo.

I don't know anything about this fella but based on how things currently lie, I can't see any DoF being able to come in and change that many things to make a difference in the January transfer window.

On that basis, I think we hold off a DoF and look to appoint a manager on a contract until the end of the season and then we look at creating a holistic approach in the summer to ensure the DoF is in place and picks the new manager so they can work in harmony and can unite in telling Farhad to leave the football stuff well alone.
