Firstly, that's absolute horse manure and completely untrue, and I've been confident we'd stay up all season (search my posting history if you want).

Secondly, the season includes Lampard's reign, you can't get away from that, so yes because of how poor we were under him that counts towards us being lucky to stay up.

Lastly, Dyche has worked a small miracle to keep us up, doesn't that tell you that we have been lucky?

I didnt say you were, I said its as if some were.
Secondly, we didn't fluke anything to stay up. We didn't stay up on goal difference.
We stayed up by two points.
Leicester, Leeds or Southampton didn't get done over to any degree and finished below us.
Since PL began 35.7pts has been the average finish for 17th, we ended up with 36.
And lastly, I dont class a small miracle as 21pts from 18 games, I see it as standard return with this squad, stop over exaggerating for effect.

Our points total wouldn't keep us up most seasons, we're lucky everyone else was so bad in the league, that's exactly why it is a miracle. Our squad is appalling, I don't know what team you're watching.

'Surely has to be due to worries over how these things impact the brand. It shouldn't matter. Serie A has more swiftly dealt with its biggest clubs than the PL has with Everton. The PL on the other hand seem to want to hope issues like this and Man City resolve themselves.'

They're on the decline too. Klopp will be gone at some point this year I reckon.

I'm relieved this evening for our clubs short term future.
I'm not celebrating 17th, but I'm definitely not thinking we deserved to go down, when it mattered the players/staff/fans pulled through.
I've never seen a team win the league and have fans complain that in another season their points total wouldn't have won them the league, its a nonsensical point of view.
Hope for change and better next season.
