How frequent are the trains from basel to bern, direct? Also r there likely to be ant returning to basel after game?

Trains run like clockwork over here (bad pun intended).
Had a quick look before and trains to Basel run every half hour up to 10.30pm, then there are a few more after that, with the last direct train leaving at 11.30pm. Trains won't be a problem over here, a return from Basel to Bern will be about 80 francs or so (£50-60).

I merely opined that a 2-1 defeat is better than a 1-0 on account of the away goal rule

Not only is it a great draw for us directly, its a great draw for us indirectly. Think about these ties for example:

Sevilla v Gladbach
Villarreal v RB Salzburg
Roma v Feyenoord
PSV v Zenit

Four of those teams are guaranteed to be out.
