That isn't how a medical diagnosis works.
If it is I'm an American Pyscho from the 80's.

I understand that mate, but self diagnosing will get you nowhere.
I am awaiting an appointment for a diagnosis myself, as it happens.
Am in my mid-40s, and didn't consider it as a possibility at all. But my brothers lad was diagnosed recently and it got me thinking since.
It's a very broad spectrum, but I fit a lot of the criteria.
You ask yourself at my age what are the benefits if any of going through this process, but like any other condition, it would be better to know than not and help me to be a bit easier on myself perhaps as I progress through middle-age.
I haven't mentioned it to a single soul, and if I get a diagnosis I don't think I would raise it with my family either.
It's just something of a voyage of self-discovery for me.
As the dad of a kid with ASD I think that's probably the most important thing, it'll just help you to understand why you have certain behaviours and will probably explain some past experiences. My son was diagnosed early so thankfully he knows there's certain things he'll do and has limited control over and hopefully that means he won't beat himself up too much when he looks back on things as an adult.
Good luck with it mate and if you ever want to pick my brain about anything, be it medication, organisations that can help or anything else just give me a shout.
