lulz. "blindly follow the marketing waffle' The same could be said of you and Apple.

It is all in people's 'opinion' mate. I am typing on a top of the line Mac right now, and I hate it (it is the sister-in-laws). For all the differences championed by Apple and the Jobilites, they just rename the exact same functions and then do things backwards (FFS I effing HATE the reversed mouse scrolling. Why, really, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT???? Just to be 'different'?? Retards.)

Mac's are not immune to problems and they are not immune to malware. Just basically used by people who consider them fashion icons and are happy paying a 50% premium for inferior hardware.

You mentioned Apple folk blindly following the marketing hype in a previous post I've read, so I meant it a little tongue cheek

You're entitled to your opinion, and I'd never belittle that, but I would disagree. Chip wise, sure Apple use the same chips, of course they do. And they don't always. Hose the absolute latest and greatest when it comes to all of their hardware choices. But if you look at their R&D, and how they put they're products together. There's nothing nferior about the unibody MacBook air design for example, and the glass trackpad is still industry leading.

If you don't value aesthetics and form, then sure you'll just see an overpriced piece of metal. In the same way I look at a windows laptop and curse cheap plastic. I have a MacBook air only because it looks better than a MacBook pro. If I was a windows user I'd have a Dell Adamo , purely because I thought it looked better. It's not always about specs, or how cheap I can buy something. If it were, we'd all be retards for not shopping in Premark for all of our clothes. And I'm pretty sure not all of your clothing comes with a Primarni tag on it.

I've been using Macs well before the iPod came onto the market, and I still swear at windows 7 and hate how it's all backwards and retarded with its multi tasking features that confuse the hell out of me. Sound familiar :-)

I Think we pretty much think the same, but just come from different opposites of the spectrum. I get that Apple make a healthy margin from their products, what I don't get is why the rest of the market go for 3-4% margins, that leave them totally open to another company coming in and undercutting them. The total lack of differentiation meaning they're One step away from obsolescence.

Bottom line, we all value different things and we don't see certain attributes equally

I don't think I can top that!!!!

Concedes the argument.

Seriously though, I build my own PC's and I LOVE doing that. The operating system you put on it really does come down to personal preference.

I like PC's because I like the games I can run on it. My PC is solid. I put every piece together myself and it is in that that I take half the joy.

To each his own (and I maintain that the iPhone and iPad are industry leaders). There is not a handset out there that even manages to come close to the build quality of the iPhone 4S (even the superbly built Blackberry Bold 9930). And the same for the iPads, everything else seems cheap in comparison.

I don't think Apple are perfect, I'm sure Chico is going to pass out when he reads that!

iOS has some major annoyances for me, like the inability to move an mp3 into iTunes on the device, or the crappy videos app, not to mention not being able to move a file internally on the OS that's bigger than about 350 meg

If I was into gaming, there's no doubt I'd have a PC

I feel like a kid before Christmas, I can't wait for the delivery of my HTC One X. I've been stuck with an ancient Blackberry Curve 8900 with NO internet access for months now and I'm utterly fed up with it.

So much android envy going on here. It's shocked me a bit.

Someone mentioned the build quality of the iPhone 4 - the very phone that if you drop from a height of more than 5cm it smashes. It's almost kopite in it's cult like feel and delusion.

Hmm, well as I am not a clumsy bar-steward like certain others on here, I have yet to drop it. And I have had it over a year. I thought you were a grown up chico? Kids (and women) drop stuff. Not adult men.

I have really big/fat hands and fingers mate, it's not my fault.

I just had a play with the Lumia 800 (Cyan colour) and it is fab. That is deffo my next phone. I am hawking my Blackberry and then buying an unlocked Lumia 800!!!! WAHOO!!

I'm assuming you mean a Lumia 900? It does look like an amazing phone, I think a white one comes out in a couple weeks.
