Southampton will be really pleased with that performance. They will be disappointed but a point at Arsenal is very good. If they show that quality in the next games they will get more points.
They'll be devastated. They are not in a position to look on the bright side. They had two points in the bag - and tossed them into the Thames. Imagine the Southampton equivalent of @Kev The Rat on the Southampton forum: Kev The Mighty Mouse - after the legendary Keegan. He'll be predicting relegation to the Northern Premier after that, location notwithstanding.

I’m sure we felt good about our draw at City which if I recall was amongst a run of 9 games with no wins and only one other draw.
They need points, they’ll be crushed throwing away two goal lead on 88 mins

"We'd never be able to do what Southampton are doing here..."

Southampton: 'hold my Everton branded beer glass'
TBF the last 2 results at Arsenal have been 4-0 and 5-1, we won 3 years ago but that was the 1st win since 95/96......

it does help them actually as you have to consider the opponent. thats a point they never would have expected, or anyone else for that matter - and a tough match off the list.
They will go back to losing again next week, arsenal are in meltdown chasing this title.

Southampton have too many teams ahead of them, and goal difference against them to stay up in my opinion. 3v1 up approaching the 90th minute there they were right back in the mix, ten mins later they are back on the bottom, played a game more.

Thing is that was a good draw then, but a draw from a two goal ead won't save Southampton

We need three wins somewhere…going to be a tough ask but that’s what we need to stay up I think.

With the season we have had I’m surprised it’s still in our hands atm tbh.
