I think Leeds (29 points/-21 goal difference) and Bournemouth (33 points/-32 goal difference) are going to get sucked in.

Leicester (28points/-13 goal difference) have it in their hands a bit more than us but two big games next.

Also keep an eye on West Ham (34 points/-8 goal difference) have a tough next 4 v Liverpool, Palace, City and Man United and Wolves, 5 points ahead but United, Arsenal, Brighton plus Villa.

If we can grab 4/6 points in our next two v Newcastle and Leicester. I think we will secure safety faster than last year but 36/37 points could do it.

For me:

18th - Leeds
19th - Forest
20th - Southampton
Really hope your final prediction is right, but I think you’re spot on mate - plenty more twists and turns yet, not over by a long way for all the doom mongers.

Was just about to respond, but don't want to tempt fate. So hopefully I've just saved us from that possible fate.
But I haven't saved you from this now 'pointless post'....

Some of the other teams have enough quality in their side to play PL but have been underperforming.

We don't even have the quality in our side to make a couple of passes together in the attacking third. Our football model for many years is based on punting ball up front to a lone striker to lose possession. For some time we had players like Lukaku and Fellaini who benefited in that model.

- Our best full back is a 35 year old who managed to get us 3 points through a fluke goal against a side like Leeds. Our other FBs are piss poor in one aspect of the game or another. Really want Patterson to improve his defensive game.

- We cannot win FKs in attacking areas, or penalties (because we never have players threatening in those areas) and only rely on 1970s tactics of headers at setpieces.

- Our CMs can't wait to shift the ball to the most convenient option sideways.

- We've developed a culture of discouraging players with flair or spark (Deulofeu, Gordon, Barkley, Bernard, James) cos they are mavericks or have bad attitude yet will put up with likes of Holgate and Davies for almost a decade for contributing F-all

- We love to fill our CM with DMs that are physical and can put a tackle over someone who priortises creativity over tackling

Ha Ha. My mistake.

However, there's 6 left for thye rest of them down there. My point was that in a tougher run of games with personnel out we got 7 points with the inference that with personeell back and what I'd see as 4 winnable games (Newcastle, Leicester, Wolves and B'mouth) and a couple of draw possibilities (Brighton and City) we can do better than 7.
I really want some of whatever you are smoking or whatever those happy pills are. It must be like that lovely excited feeling we had as kids waiting for Santa to visit and come down the chimney and leave us presents.

We are the traditional British dross football team, run by British dross, managed by recycled British dross.

We haven't evolved in three decades.

The proverbial has finally hit the wall.

Thursday is one of our tougher remaining games. There’s still too many games left to mean we’re safe if we win or down if we lose. With Leeds playing Leicester, one of both of them is not going to pick up 3 points in the week. So going into next weekend we’ll be a maximum of 2 points from getting out of the bottom 3.

Feel like we won’t win our way out of it this year so we are relying on others (Forest and Leeds) to be even more dire than us. Honestly I don’t think we win another game until Bournemouth and would you even fancy us to win that?

Relying on the likes of Leicester and Bournemouth to beat Leeds and keep them in the mud with us so we have half a chance. If it’s in our hands last game I’d be very happy, because if we still have a chance of saving ourselves but we are relying on a favour from Spurs we are doomed.

Looking at the fixtures, it feels like we need 4 points from the next 6 games. We don’t want to need anything from City at home or Brighton away, and we still need to be in with a shout of survival by the time we play Wolves and Bournemouth. Our goal difference is so poor we really need one point more than our rivals.

Leicester aren't all that. They were lucky to win yesterday to get their first win in 12 games. I expect them to stumble against Leeds.
I think it works out better for us if Leicester beat Leeds. Goal difference for one. Leeds look done and I see it being a match play situation with us vs Leeds (assuming hopefully that Forrest and Southampton remain the bottom 2.
