Has it crossed your mind that someone that says something on a football forum may be expressing an opinion? there are only 6 games left and in the relegation thread, people express opinions. Simply saying Everton is down does not mean the person wants Everton down. Saying Everton is down is generally an expression of annoyance, upset, and frustration at the current situation. Rationally looking at the situation and it is very understandable that some people may think Everton will be relegated but it doesn't mean that they want Everton to go down
Surely you understand the difference between 'I believe that Everton will be relegated' and 'Everton are relegated'. Saying the first is an opinion. Saying the second is a false statement.

I do understand the difference but I also understand context. Just like I am sure you understand that the poster does not believe that Everton is relegated now and the post is saying that he believes that Everton will be relegated this season, and saying 'Everton are Relegated' is simply showing his conviction in his belief that there is nothing Everton can do to avoid relegation. Everyone that reads it understands that, but some like to focus on the semantics rather than the message

We need a Leicester win tonight . Leeds are awful and we have to look at goal difference. Leeds , Forest and Southampton for the drop.

A few ways to look at it, if they don't win does that make our game against them more tense for them or for us?

Or perhaps if they win, come our game, the pressure will have been relived slightly and that could either see them take their foot off the gas or on the flip side they might play with more freedom and beat us handily.

A draw would be preferable to me I think. I don't want a Leeds win though, if we're going to be worse by being slightly less crap than another team I'd sooner take my chances against Leeds than I would Leicester.

Ignoring all this, we just need to win on Thursday :D

You may be right, but I still think I'd prefer a draw to keep Leicester further in it as well. Feels like two minutes ago when we were thinking three from 8 teams to go down, all the way up to Palace, which has whittled down very quickly and looking at it as three from four with us as one of the four would be proper squeaky bottom time.

Can't really blame him for being concerned. A lot of us feel that relegation maybe the first step into oblivion for us, given how the club is run. I personally do not think we are coming back once we go.
Everyone is concerned .
Posting that we are down every day since October and same last season when we actually didn't go down is a bit much. If we do we do. But until it happens we haven't

Apologies if already covered but not only can we look at Bournemouth and hope they go on a winless run for 5 games, but also Wolves. Appreciate it's extremely unlikely and probably wishful thinking but looking at Wolves fixtures, if we are going to stay up, we need to be going to somewhere like that and getting a (unlikely I know) win.

Either side of that game they have a trip to Old Trafford and the Emirates. Their last 6 fixtures are Palace H, Brighton A, Villa H, Man Utd A, Everton H, Arsenal A.

Those at the bottom of the table can quite easily go on 5-6 game winless runs. Leicester took only 1 point from 24 available before their win at the weekend.

The downside of relying on Bournemouth and Wolves still being a part of the battle is that both are just 3-4 points from safety. Wolves could effectively be safe tonight.

Wolves are on 34. They need 1 or two points from 6 games. Forget it
