Relegation is part of the sport, as anoying and upsetting it may be....its what happens.

Other big clubs have gone down before, and are still ok today...many even better than us.

I think if you are in the pool of clubs that doesn't challenge, and we haven't ever been part of that group as a PL club, then it doesn't take very much to slide into mediocrity and from there not much more again to where we are currently.

Excluding Man City, and of the Premier League ever-presents, we have been consistently and significantly outperformed by every other team. As much as anything, when you belong to the "meh" group of clubs, the chance that you''ll get sucked into a dogfight for at least one season becomes statistically very high.

Each season that re-occurs, the chances of escape diminish. Sooner or later your number comes up. Every other club outside the traditional (present) top six has seen this happen to them.

To that end, I'm disappointed but not at all surprised in how things have gone. All it took was bad management and we have had spectacularly bad management,

If we do go down the next few years are going to be tricky even if we do come straight back up next year, I suspect there may be a few relegation battles and even yo-yoing as some clubs have done (unless we get new owners / executive direction which may provide a glimmer of hope)

Not according to the club office. They said there is no intention to calculate and ask s/t holders for an extra charge for additional league games next season. However assuming we are still down in 24/25 she said the charge for that season will be based on the number of home games. That would be in the new stadium anyway and they are nowhere near thinking of seat pricing for the new stadium.

Won't be in the new stadium that season.

Was worrying back in August too mate. To send a premiership side in to a season with no strikers is criminal. It was odds on we'd be in a scrap come April. Even amateur teams recognise this complicated fact that a strike force is a must have to compete.
Not just a failure to acquire a proper all out striker that suits the way we intend to play but we also failed to secure a richie replacement as well, I know McNeil has improved exponentially since Dysche arrived still pales to the influence richie provided along with the goals which we never replaced or added to , the striking options have obviously been depressingly woeful but that could be send for our wingers and creative midfield or even fullback options. Garner has showed glimpses of promise but not to those type of players in place before the season began is a travesty and an act negligence

No it won't, compare the fixtures and compare the stats.

Lampard is a disgraceful manager.

It's incredibly easy to argue we are better off without him. He is comfortably the worst manager I've witnessed and giving him a free pass for his failures won't wash.

Agree with this. Dyche is the better manager, especially when it comes to working with limited players.

We'll never know but I think we'd be 3-5 points better off had Lampard gone during the world cup.

It is possible to think more than one thing at a time.

Lampard should be ashamed of his performance, regardless how appalling his owners

Lampard doesn’t give a toss so long as the salary was going into his bank account.

I bet he got a nice wedge for keeping us in the PL last year too.

One of the worst managers in Everton’s long and proud history.

Lampard is indeed a disgraceful manager. The results speak for themselves...

LLLWDLLLLDLLLLLLLLL Frank Lampard's last 19 top flight results, last 5 with Chelsea's world beating squad... stick to punditry Frank.

5 points from a possible 57 is disastrous.

When we're relegated, the club should change its legal and trading name to 'McLovin Football Club'.

Then if/when we're to return to the Premier League in the future, we can change our name back to Everton.

That way, Everton will never play outside the Premier League ever again, and the name can't be dragged through the humiliation of playing lower-league 'ball.

It also gives die hard Everton fans like me the excuse I need to not care about the fortunes of 'McLovin' and I can just come back and support the lads if/when we're back in the big time.

No one cares about McLovin FC. They can be a joke for all I care.
