I’m hoping Madrid can win tonight , then you’d imagine city might rest a few on Sunday . Their second XI is still a quality side but let’s be honest I’d rather face them and given their position a draw at Goodison wouldn’t be a disaster for them . Feels unlikely but so did yesterday

Was it you who said we can beat Brighton.. you where right I was wrong

Loads, including me, said we could beat Brighton. People in this thread has turned football into some binary exercise, you thought people may have learnt from last year that football/sport doesn't work like that

That being said, obv I didn't expect 5-1

Genuinely how? Leicester and Leeds, along with us are down where we are purely based on merit this season. Look how bad we’ve looked all year, now imagine there’s 3 that are actually worse.

You’re then talking about Spurs who are a top 6 team with Harry Kane and a soon to be European finalist in West Ham. Our result today was a shock for sure but I don’t know where you’re getting that these 2 teams, who’ve been dross and are in their worst spells will pick up wins against 2 good sides.
West Ham season comes down to the Euro comp now as they are safe.. they Will rest players. Spurs have some good players but they been terrible lately and at the end of the season teams win unexpected games just like Everton

It was. To quote: "Lads, it's Brighton."

But it wasn't said out of any notion our team was better than Brighton's. It was said from a position of desperation: we need points and I saw no reason we couldn't get something there if we did our stuff. There are only a few teams in this league who we are massively outgunned by even if we do our stuff. But the rest? If we do our stuff, we can get something from the rest. Our problem is we so rarely do our stuff. A crass mistake here, a blunder there, it all adds up.

That said, I understand why people thought the idea mad. We're like abused dogs, cowed by constant chastening.

Hard to see Leicester staying up now.

I'm more confident, but need both Forest and Leeds to lose their next games and more.

It's still imperative we take something from Wolves. It's unlikely but not impossible we win two successive away games, but it can happen.

Still think it comes down to the last day.

not saying he's amazing but some of these games have at least shown that dyche isn't quite as old-fashioned and unflexible as he was made out to be. really enjoyed that pressing style. the lads fought their bottoms off in those last few games. can't imagine that happening under lampard. give him 3, 4 players he trusts and maybe he's gonna have a sounder substitution behaviour as well

Seeing us tonk Brighton 5-1 shows anything can happen in football so yeah, I don't subscribe to the view around other teams won't get results

It should give us confidence to get something at Wolves. If we do that then I'd hope it would be in our hands Vs Bournemouth?
Remember last year,

Burnley won’t win another game then won 4 on the trot… great surprising win but I still think we need 2 more wins

4 points does it for me, and if we can't get that from Wolves and Bournemouth then we deserve to go down. 2 points may even do it, but I hope Dyche doesn't have the players thinking that.

Still work to do but that is a massive boost. If we had lost yesterday. we would be favourites to go down with Southampton. We have now got above Leicester and Leeds and out the relegation zone and gave our selfs a great chance to survive.
