I fully expect Leeds to beat Newcastle at the weekend. Big Sam will get his bounce against a team that, admirable as they are, are no world-beaters. Lads, it's Newcastle.

As for Leicester, I don't see them losing to Liverpool. Whether they win is the question for me.

Given that I remain convinced that the key to survival is to finish above Nottingham Forest, it's the Leeds and Forest results that most concern me. I have long felt we could finish above those two - and needed to. With Southampton gone, we could actually absorb a Leicester win on Monday if the other two are beaten again. I'd certainly take that set of results.

We've got to do our stuff at Wolves. If we do, we might have enough to stay afloat. But the euphoria from Monday should have dissipated by the time Forest got their fourth. Anybody still on a high is primed for a deep low this weekend...

The Opta Relegation-ometer thingy looking quite positive ;)

….I wouldn’t get caught up in this, I can imagine what it was like before the Brighton game. It’s based on probability but football isn’t like that.

The bottom line here is if we finish ahead of Forest, we have a great chance of avoiding the drop.

in horse racing parlance, this is a 5 runner race where the top 2 qualify. Entering the final furlong, Forest lead Everton by 1L with Leeds and Leicester 2L further back. Southampton are well out the back. If Everton stay on to beat Forest, it increases our chances of having 3 behind.

All this thing about because we beat Brighton - it auto means some other team could do it is way off for me, if they do or dont do it - it is because they can-not because of our result. It's why if it did happen and another surprise result happened from the other few, that i dont get why some fans are making out the City game is a free hit like we will auto still be above te current 18th/19th place - we hopefully will be with a bit of luck but no game 3 games from the end whoever it's against, while we are still so close to bottom 3 can be classed as a free hit. if we lose to City and there is a surprise result, With us playing 1st next week it will bring pressure knowing we are playing catch up again and then if we lost that Wolves game it looks bad

Devon Loch springs to mind

Moyes is a big beliver in momentum building. I don't think he will want his players down in the dumps and out of form for Europe. He will see those games as decent confidence builders
Seem to remember he played a weakened team against Liverpool once before an FA cup match and we got thumped.

If we can win 5-1 away at Brighton then i'm not ruling out anything crazy happening with Leeds & Leicester, take care of our own business and don't rely on others.

Leeds beating Newcastle or Leicester beating the RS wouldn't be any bigger a surprise than what we just did.
I can't believe what we just did and I have watched the highlights 750,000 times.
