This thread confuses the hell out of me sometimes, and I’m one of the most negative when it comes to our chances. We drew yesterday for a point, Leeds lost today for zero points. So why are some basically saying we’re now worse off than we were yesterday? Isn’t is back in our hands? Beat Bournemouth and we stay up?
We are basically as likely to go down as we were yesterday morning: we’ve gained a point on Leeds which is obviously good. But we have lost a massive insurance policy against some result combinations in Forest. It’s not in our own hands to stay up because Leicester, however unlikely, could win twice. So overall so far it’s been a neutral weekend for our chances and could be a good one / bad one depending on tomorrow night.

We need to beat Borneo. Its up to Dyche to set the team up for a win without dcl. God help us if he plays Maupay because he is no outlet, cant challenge for the ball, cant score. Gray up front although he was lousy v Wolves. Should we play Simms?

I just hope that IF we survive, the match going fans don't celebrate but instead spend 15 minutes booing and calling for the board to resign

We are Everton FFS ... not some uppity got lucky club
I agree. How can anyone be happy finishing below Nottm. Forest?

The fact that, somehow, that may mean we don't get relegated is a get out of jail card.

Again.

Can't keep going on like this ...

Leicester were there for the taking when we played them.
I always go back to that awful Boxing Day game against Wolves where we pissed about with the ball at the back and after urging them to get the ball forward we lost possession and ten seconds later we lost with the last kick of the game.
And while I'm on about it, can't remember if it was Gray or Gordon against Leeds, but didn't we get an apology for incorrectly ruling out a perfectly legitimate goal from the League. We would have been safe if that was allowed to stand.

Ah!! I’ve just had a wee look, and 4th place no longer has to qualify for the Champions league. That puts the cat amongs the pigeons somewhat.

I was wrong when I wrote this:

Said ages ago that it would be a rollercoaster and I still think that. One week we look dead and buried and another we'll look fine with games to spare. Neither will probably be true and it will just be a case right at the end are we on the up while teams around us dip or vice versa.

It's day to bloody day! Exhausting.

Would disagree, the less games there are left while we are out the relegation zone, the less likely we are to go down.

A neutral weekend gets us closer to the finish line
