This team make me utterly miserable.

A utterly joyless team to support. And have been for a number of years.
I feel like this - just bereft. We may stay up this season by the skin of our teeth (I don’t think we will) but what hope is there under this board - our recruitment gets worse and this is even after the much vaunted “strategic review”. Are you seriously telling me that in two transfer windows they couldn’t find a bigger threat than maupay in the entirety of world football.

If they win they'll be on the cusp of safety, 8 points from relegation. They've got goals in them and if they score first they win.
Them 2/3 breaks we had in the 1st half where McNeil and Maupay got caught in quicksand, Gibbs White and Johnson wouldve got in behind and at least worked Ramsdale.
Even at that stage nil nil, we showed Arsenal we had nothing to offer and they could park themselves in our half.
The lapses in concentration from us are like clockwork, always always around the corner of the other team can be patient.

For any other club, relegation and a clear out from board level right the way through the club wouldn’t be the worst idea in our shoes right now.

However, the stadium and subsequent (lack of) funding it would bring is enough to completely destroy the club.
I think the funding will still come. Investors will be waiting to see if we go down so they can get a cut price deal/ higher stake in the club. The ground makes us an attractive proposition regardless of the league we’re in in the short term.
Relegation could force the changes at the top level we need if we are to make longer term progress. Look at Newcastle, Villa, Leeds- big clubs who have been down, come back up and overtaken Everton. I think we will avoid financial oblivion with Onana and Kean sales and if that means Kenwright, Baxendale and Moshiri are forced out in place of knowledgeable people in charge I will take it. This purgatory of scrapping around at the bottom of the premier league, not winning, not scoring and getting the occasional thrashing isn’t at all enjoyable. Going the game is supposed to be an escape, some light relief, and even entertaining. It’s been none of those things for a long time.

We'll score again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when,
But I know we'll score again some sunny day,
Keep smiling through,
Just like we always do,
Cos I know we'll score again, some sunny day...

Let’s be honest it’s only a matter time, if we somehow stay up this year we’ll probably go down next. We’ve been on a downward spiral for 2 years. Relegation feels inevitable.

Defence starts up top. If you're not threatening the oppositions goal you're just inviting presure and it becomes a matter of time before someone messes up.

Look it was a bad result but this was realistically always gonna happen tonight, Arsenal are justifiably the best team in the league, we’re one of the worst.

Beat Forest at the weekend and we go a point behind them, also other likely results would mean that we’d 15th. Tonight hurts obviously but we’re not down and out at all.

I think we may well regret not replacing Lampard earlier with Dyche as we’ve probably left minimum 9 points on the table for no reason, most of them coming against sides we should be easily beat who’d be below us.

Let’s hope for the best for the next few weeks, we need all the luck we can get but nothing has been decided yet.
