So desperate for a couple of wins on the bounce. As much as we despise most of our squad (the injured ones are all brilliant and get better by the day), I will always maintain our on-paper starting lineup has higher ability than most teams in the bottom half. It also can’t be tactics, as 483 managers have tried every formation there is.

The main thing missing is consistent confidence and has been for 2 years plus. If we could have played someone really turd at home straight after the Arsenal game, Dyche would still be unbeaten.

I couldn’t care less anymore about other results. I thought we was down after the window. Arsenal and Leeds gave me some hope. Losing to Villa at home sealed it for me tho. If we had a decent striker we probably could have put that game to bed in the first half. Not strengthening in January has done it for us no matter what way you look at. we aren’t going to win games with Mupaey as our striker we just aren’t going to score enough goals and that will take us down with Southampton and Bournemouth.

I would agree on paper we have a better goalkeeper Defense and Midfield than a lot of the teams in the bottom half. That said we easily have the worst attack and you need to score goals to win games.

The midfield is poor. The centrehalves are past their peak and the fullbacks aren't worth discussing. Keeper is better than most.

Whether it's on paper or grass, this is a squad that merits it's position.

I don't think it's confidence, or at least confidence isn't the main issue. You said it yourself; on paper. Our paper side may be better but many of them are unfortunately as resilient as paper. Our squad is also paper thin. Just look at our attacking options. I don't take much notice of other teams but I seriously doubt many of our relegation rivals are worse than us with their options in the final third(I'm also including attacking midfielders here).

The scary part is the amount of Evertonians who want us to go down just to be proved right, they must have been gutted last season.
Am not sure any evertonian wants us to go down. We all realize how important premier league football is especially with the new stadium. The fans gave their all to keep the team in the league last season. We didn’t want to go through it again this season and it looks increasingly harder to stay up this year than it did last year. I think a lot of people think we are done.
