No reason why we can’t aim for 4 points from the next 3 games…. Win when Fulham come to Goodison, and let’s hope we can be sitting on 32 points with 7 games left.
I agree with you. The next 3 games could be pivotal for us. We need to keep the momentum and pick up some points from the next 3 games. The way the teams arround us are all picking up points, it could be a 40 point season to avoid the drop.

I don't think it will be 40 points needed. I don't see the side eventually finishing 18th to get that total, and go down on GD, or finish with 39 points.

Saying that, I don't think 36 will be near enough either. 38 would see us safe I think. For all of the games to come between sides in the mix, the one known is that there has to be at least one side dropping points in each of those fixtures.

The much bigger anomaly is the surprise results. But very often, teams fail to capitalise in their next game. Teams are there because they're amongst the worst in the league.

Two successive wins is pure gold in this territory - not just for the points return but the momentum gained and damage done to rivals.

Big issue last season was that we'd get a good win and then fail to follow up on it

If we can get something out of Chelsea and keep the momentum going then that will be a very positive sign

Still a lot of work to do though

Good luck to everyone travelling on Saturday. I know you'll make as much noise as possible in an effort to get the players over the line

I think we'll need a couple of surprise wins as well, similar to Chelsea and Utd last season.

Whether that be Chelssa away, Utd away, City at home or Spurs, we need to be picking up something.

It takes one defeat and a bad weekend and before we know it we are back in the bottom 3 and psychologically it ramps up the pressure. So, by the time we play Chelsea on Saturday, we'll have an idea of how everyone else has done and we need to dig in and graft as hard as we can to get a result.

Dunno how many of you follow this, but Nate Silver (famous American statistician)'s website fivethirtyeight still has us going down even after the weekend's results. However, it is tight...

Haha my wife is a Liverpool season ticket holder mate. Don’t worry, I have it all.

No offence taken.

I keep doing predictions on;

No matter how many times I do them, I see it going to the final game of the season against Bournemouth at home where we will win and send them down. I obviously hope this isn’t the case but I’ve done about 3 of these in recent weeks and I just can’t see past it.

I have Southampton, Bournemouth, Forest, then Leeds, then us.
Just redone this and have us again on 37 points and safe. But I am biased. Saints, Leeds, Wham, Bournemouth and Forest to have the squeakiest bums

Just to add, based on my predictions (which are most likely completely wrong), only a low points total will be needed for safety - like low 30s

From this on Twitter it looks like some West Ham fans are as worried as we are. Seems like each teams think that others will stay up at their expense. Hardly anyone seems confident of avoiding the drop. View attachment 206389
I think every set of fans have their fair share of doom-mongers, especially if their team has no momentum. I don't know what the current form table looks like but West Ham must be bottom or very close to it.

Probably doesn't factor in e.g. manager change, will just look at xG per game and stuff like that to determine the likelihood of us beating any given team. Also worth noting it has us on 47% so not predicting we'll go down, just that if it had to pick someone it would pick us!
