Relegation Fight 2014/2015

That's easy to say after 3 wins on the bounce, but prior to that we'd won what? 2 games out of 15 in the league or something like that. We were never certain to go down and I doubt anyone said that but it was a possibility and our recent form was anything but inevitable.
and prior to that despite winning 2 out of 15 we were still in 14th/15th, never even had anything to do with us in my opinion. It's not that we were too good to go down but the teams below us were never going to get enough points to concern us

B's should be ashamed of themselves.

Proper decent fans like the A's were genuinely concerned that Everton might get relegated so expressed those emotions on here.

Meanwhile the B's were too busy doing Nero impressions and fiddling with themselves as Everton burned.

Good job the B's weren't around in 94 and 98 or we'd be discussing whether Craig Short could get us out of the Vanarama conference.

Man, you're taking all the fun out of saying "I told you so" here.

Look at that form, and then consider if it had continued.

Say one, maybe two wins in the run in?

That would have put us on 34-38 points, which is in the target zone for relegation. Given the form was what it was, those concerned that the form may continue expressed that concern.

Luckily, it didn't. Three wins out of the blue, up to 8th in the form table, threat gone.

And that's pretty much the be all, end all of it.

When you went on an hour long rampage of calling people all sorts because they disagreed with you, and I multi-quoted about ten of them.

It sticks in my mind as most people on here are good natured, even when "popcorning", whereas you simply sneer at people constantly.

You then told me something along the lines of "if you don't like it, ignore me" instead of saying "you know what, fair play, I went overboard, I was wrong."

Whatever. Can't remember it. Might have been pissed. Not really arsed. It can't have been as bad as you're trying to make out, because guess what' I'm still allowed to post.

Ash FFs all it takes to stop looking daft here is for you to say

"I panicked. I never wanted Martinez in the beginning and I couldn't wait to say I told you so. It seems no matter how many times I was wrong previously ive not been able to face it..but now I'll admit we won't be relegated under Martinez this season, no matter what happens to the likes of QPR or Sunderland or even Burnley...I got it wrong and Martinez isn't going to take us down."

It's the best way forward, people always have more respect for others who admit they were wrong. It's happened before like in the Osman thread.

i was never against martinez and to be honest to back my own words up i said i wanted him gone IF we were in a relegation battle in march, which the one out of context vaulting I have had alludes to. I have never said at any other point sack him, hell I've not even said he has lost my backing which to me is the beginning of the end for me supporting a manager.

I have even spoke quite positively about him over the past month, and have said several times including tonight tthat I want martinez to succeed as I back his 5 year plan and I still do. I want him to be a success here but jumping on me for also not being happy about the way he has gone about things is a little bit of a desperate way to popcorn someone.

but I suppose that doesn't matter, thing is I can back every one of my viewpoints up with earlier posts. I am still waiting to fund these posts of me saying I never supported martinez or that we were definitely going down or any of the other wild accusations that keep getting thrown my way that I have apparently said but no one can find any proof of me saying.

fact of the matter is this, I stand by my word and if that means more attacks on my posts from the same group of people so be it. but at least I'm not someone who changes his opinion everyother week.just because we have won a couple of games. I'd rather you all compare yourself to the nazis and act accordingly to that title than not believe in my own opinion

All we want is for the hysterical, angry types who bummed this once fine forum hard over the past few months to come out and say soz. And that next time they'll try to be a little more calmer and considerate.

Once we have that then we can move on.

Also can you make them watch that 'Goalkeeping for Dummies' seminar in the Tim Howard thread please Chics before as part of their penance?

Indeed. Point is you should have apologised for it. You know when I've went off on one on here? I've apologised. Quickly. You didn't. And for the record, the comments weren't even aimed at me - you just went off on one at around ten different people.

So don't be so quick to say it'd "never happen" as I've done it many times on here before, and I certainly don't want to be lectured about admitting wrong by someone who doesn't themselves.

In that same spirit can you please apologise for:
  1. Fearmongering over a relegation fight that didn't happen.
  2. Hating on Lukaku and sneering at those who thought he was a very good striker.

Well, the thing is, the comment about never admitting being wrong, wasn't aimed at you per se. It was just a general observation. I also never said that people should apologise for being wrong, I just noted that some will argue to the death before admitting it, so you're the one going off on one now mate.

Anyway, let's drop it before we get infractions, yeah?

1. Nope, as it did happen, just not Coventry/Wimbledon "happen".
2. I will do when the lad does the business in the league next season. I'm already fairly sure I was 100% dead wrong in saying he looked like a "mid table striker", but I want to see him prove he's truly in the class many believe he is. Until then, I don't know whether I'm right or wrong yet.

Wow.

This is my final table based on predictions.

On the last day Burnley get a dramatic draw at Villa while already-doomed Leicester lose at home to QPR but WBA avoid a sufficient thrashing at Arsenal to avoid relegation by a single goal!

Hull to go into freefall from now to the end.
