People were shocked that Burnley sacked Dyche but they knew they needed points from somewhere. They've got the bounce they were looking for.

Yes away.

Beat them comfortably at Goodison first game of the season.

They're an ideal team to play at this point in the season, 39 points, missing a few of their defenders and not much attack in final third. Ward Prowse not had a central free kick to play with either yet.

If they get a goal back Burnley will get nervous but at same time could easily see them getting 3 or 4 if they get more corners as Saints aren't a very tall team at all.

Leicester were an ideal team as well. Eyes on their European game, just beaten by Newcastle at the weekend and we had 10 days to prepare.

Unfortunately for us we passed up the opportunity and Burnley's fixture list is full of teams who could easily play like Southampton have tonight.

Why so much panic because Burnley are beating Southampton a team that you can never know what team will turn up. Too many people with queaky bums We are still ahead for now and game in hand and could be 2 and still ahead come the derby. We have just picked up 4 points from games everyone was saying we would lose. We have some very winnable games left and enough that should see us safe. COYB!!!
I'm all for positive thinking, but look at the context: we needed a last minute salvage job against a good Leics team and we beat possibly/probably the worst United team in the Prem era. Every time we've been tested or put under pressure we've crumbled. Can't put two good performances back-to-back never mind two wins, and the Derby could very easily be a mauling if the RS are intent on it.

Remaining games are absolutely huge. Few wins on the board absolutely required or it's goodnight Vienna.

The team that nobody is talking about is Leeds their next four games are palace away city at home, arsenal away chelsea at home. Good chance zero points for Leeds in the next four.
yeah but we actually have to win some games to catch them. That may be a problem.

Depressing innit. Worth remembering though that even if Burnley win and move to 1 point behind us, they will have played an extra game than us. Not that it makes much difference mind as we would still have to get a result in that game in hand on them to be more than a point ahead of them.

Absolutely dreading the prospect of the RS being able to put is the relegation zone when they beat us if Burnley get anything against Wolves.

What a nightmare this season has been for undeserving evertonians. The humiliation just keeps on coming.

…I’ve reconciled myself to this since the Benitez slump started and he turned the club rotten from the inside and a shambles on the pitch. Player against player, staff against staff, board member against board member.

To think some regular posters backed him, some rejoiced and celebrated at the Digne situation. They criticised decent Evertonians, calling us out as not being ‘proper supporters’ for voicing concerns over the appointment.

It‘s the perfect storm, the coup de gras if he’s appointed at Burnley next week. You couldn’t write the script but it’s falling perfectly into place, something weird is at play here.
Why not keep all your greivances until after the season is done eh? Instead of trying to score petty internet points let us stick together and back the toffees to get some real ones.

Yes but we’re 4 points behind them with equally poor fixtures coming up.
