Mate most of our supposedly “good” players are actually pretty crap if we’re being brutally honest with ourselves.

There isn't a single player in our squad who couldn't be adequately replaced. When Alan Ball left, people cried. When Neville Southall retired, people knew we would never see his like ever again. When Wayne Rooney was sold to United, people accepted that Everton were now fodder and a generational talent was being spirited away from us without ever giving us anything vaguely approaching a few great years.

When DCL goes, we'll lament the decline in outre fashion sense amongst our number. When Mina departs, we'll know he's off to South America to play a double-header for Colombia and will be back soon to take up residence in the treatment room.

Nobody in this playing staff is worth lamenting. None of them match up to what a great Everton player represents. We'd love Richarlison to be an Everton great - but he isn't and won't be. Sentimentalism is rife at our club, but poor Duncan today shows that there needs to be more than sentimentalism and emotion to sustain any success. I don't care who we sell in the summer, once we can get a decent return on any sale. We need to rip it all up and start again, and if we're in the Championship we will have no choice but to anyway.

Next season is a big concern IF we do stay up this season. Richy and DCL will probably want out and I think we should sell and build a strong Premier League squad first and foremost. We've some good players atm but once they are injured the level is a big drop off. The squad players need to be top 12 levels and the first team as high as we can get past that.
