AgreedWhen they sacked Dyche I wondered why people were happy on here. If they'd kept Dyche they were down, so change like that was always a risk to us.
Benitez turned out to be a bad appointment. Many factors to why that was. The fans didn't help with the negativety and were the ones to start the fire. Ultimately I blame our board this goes back ten years this. I'd rather not blame most of our last few managers recruited.only difference is Benitez left us in 16th place, without one key player, confidence shattered and a lot of negativity in / around the club.
so your comparison with Lampard is awful unless you are @Theoneandonly's brother lol
You might want to peruse the record booksIt puts us on 39 points. Not many teams stay up that don't achieve 40 points. I think West Ham once got relegated on 42 points iirc
Again, still doesn’t make your initial statement that I queried anything other than nonsensicalA lot depends on if you are allowing Everton to run your life, to obsess over it, let it be the only thing that matters in your life, let it ruin your many weekends when they have been beaten.
Or enjoy it for what it is, a football team that constantly lets itself and its supporters down but understand that you can walk away any time you want too.
Woolworths, Blacklers and numerous other stalwarts of this fine city have gone to the wall and lots do not shed a tear, its call evolution, this unfortunately for us is our evolution, we are a dinosaur of a football club and if it cannot learn to evolve pretty quickly the only time you will hear of EFC is when people will say "remember Everton?" and the answer will probably be "who?", and I will still be going to the game probably in an empty but new BMD, enjoying my day out however poor the football is or the result knowing that I have other things in my life.
Sure I read they haven’t conceded a penalty since the anfield derby last season. It's as if the refs have been told.... I would be absolutely amazed if Liverpool conceded a pen or had someone sent off during this "great run".
Still seeing a lot of people feeling this way. That was then - this is now. We are gutless
Must prefer Frank Ball that doesn't keep you near it. It penetrates it.Allardyce took us from 13th to 8th.
Every game we were EXTREMELY fortunate to get anything. The football was absolutely dire...
When we were safe, he had an opportunity to evolve the playing style and stay on as manager.
If he had begun to embed a brand of football which wasnt making our eyes bleed then he may well have stayed.
Keeping him on would have meant more Tosun/Walcott signings and a Benitez type of football which keeps you close to the relegation zone.
47 game's now apparently, should have conceded one last week.Sure I read they haven’t conceded a penalty since the anfield derby last season.
It's been a bit weird. The league is getting less and less competitive. You've got the top 2 who are miles ahead of the rest of the top 6, then you get a glut of teams racing for safety and a bottom 4 or 5 who get trounced week in week out. So, yea, I know a lot of teams stay up with less than 40 points but 40 is supposedly the magic number to get you safe. You might want to peruse the record books![]()
8 teams in the past 7 seasons have stayed up on less than 40ptsIt puts us on 39 points. Not many teams stay up that don't achieve 40 points. I think West Ham once got relegated on 42 points iirc
