Usually i would suspect we would see a real reaction from the players after a result like the one against Spurs. Now, i doubt it. Its just going to have damaged them even more.

I agree, you almost could see a "roll over and give up" type of attitude on the field during the Spurs game and that's very tough to bounce back from. If we lose to Wolves, which is likely, this will simply increase the feedback loop of doom and we are surely going down.

Average League position of remaining opponents for the current relegation candidates.

Leeds: 10.27
Everton: 8.90
Burnley: 11
Watford: 10.09
Norwich: 10.01

Make of it what you will.

Ironically, during that horrendous run of form under Benitez the only teams we took points from were Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea.

I’d rather not play the teams below us - don’t want to give them any more easy points.

I really hope the Goodison crowd can drag this sorry shower to decent results (at least 4 pts from 6) in these next two games. If not, our chances of wriggling out of this are very slim to none. I doubt if (m)any of this lot would be as hurt by relegation as we fans would be, and they are awful, but getting behind them and turning Goodison into a real cauldron (for the opposition, ideally) is now probably our only shot at limping over the line.

Baffles me this....
You've spent too much money....so your punishment is to spend more money...

The rules are different from the championship as the PL seem to work with the club's rather than punish them if they're notified and agree a plan.

Says so in their rules as long as we show how were managing it
