We haven't replaced hamez in the number ten role, that area of the pitch is always empty, it's so obvious but we don't have anyone capable of doing that job.
Losing James and Sigurdsson at the same time, then inexplicably selling Digne has drained this team of creators. When you replace those players with the likes of Mykolenko and Townsend you are in a world of hurt. The damage that Benitez and Moshiri (mainly Moshiri) have done to this club is utterly unforgiveable, no mater what JimmyNail92 has to say about it. When you consider that we brought in 5 players in January at an expense of over £30m in fees and several million in wages and have the same defence and the same lack of creativity in the first 11 you have to start looking at the higher management of the organisation and asking wtaf?

Not confident how our brave boys will face up to the skunks on Thursday.

They have already kicked us off the park at their place, and they will be doing the same at goodison, after what I saw them doing to Chelsea - they are well up the fight and quite cynical, but it has worked for them, and is exactly what we should have been doing.

The players were doing that halfarsed press and lookih like they were engaging against wolves, where they look like they are putting the effort in but it's not quite at 100%, we didn't really put a proper tackle in (Kenny's two yellows were a result of him being half a yard too slow for this league, not any form of agression or fight) the skunks will batter us if they try that crap again, and everyone in the ground needs to be right up for it or we've no chance with these shithouses wearing our colours.

Newcastle don't have to do anything against us. A point away from home is easy for them to do and keeps them looking up. They've barely conceded since they went on this run, lost 1 in 8 (won 6, drawn 1).

They literally don't have to be daft and "go for a win" cos they don't need to. Sit off, hit us on a counter, they'll score.

Zero hope we get anything Thursday. Not one. Which will be the nail in the coffin.

Relegation has been coming for years. We have always had a couple purple patches that have seen us keep away from trouble. Well this year we have only had one and that was at the start. Now all the crap are slowly catching up and the games are running out.

Totally get what you are saying mate, they don't have to do much at all, and would prob take a point as a great result, and they can even sit and try and hit us on the break to nick all three.

I was just commenting on the style and how they have been going about it, even against Chelsea - putting the boot in and lots of cynical fouls - all the stuff we should have been at for months. The amount of tackles/50:50s this Everton team bottle out of is shameful.

Just want to see some fight and spirit in our team, like it actually matters to them, which is why I'd put Patterson, Branthwaite and the like in from the start now.

Young players with something to prove instead of the lazy, mentality midget wasters who got us into this mess.

for me it’s not just the practical impact losing them has made, it’s the effect on morale of the squad too.
Especially Digne who despite any ups and downs in form, he was the vice captain and clearly highly respected / thought of in the squad. The manner he was bombed out of the club can’t have gone down well.
I wasn’t too fussed about James going as I felt the squad weren’t able to cover a player like him plus too many of our bluffers thought if he was on the pitch they could just give him the ball and not do their bit.
All 3 over essentially a short period and the manner 2 of them were ostracised must have left quite the mark on the rest of them.

We going down with a whimper by the looks of it,would have hoped those 5 players we got in January would make a impact but the've ended up as bad as the rest of the crap we being buying over the years.

If you don’t find a way to rationalise it, you will need counselling.

I’m accepting it and finding something more rewarding to do with my time.
My Bro in Law said to me "money no object what would you choose to do with your life, his choices to me were: Spend it all on Everton, icluding buying players, the Club etc etc or A. N Other" He knows how much footie means to me but my answer was this:

"I would spend all my days in Memphis and Nashville(my spiritual homes) Music has never let me down in all my life, whereas Everton do, quite regularly, as it happens"

He was surprised at my answer but if push comes to shove I have many other interest that afford me greater joy, although Bayern Munich Semi, Highbury 84, Title in 85, Rotterdam etc have given me massive joy. I move on from it pretty quick but those will always hold a special place. Conversely the abject despair at losses dissipates equally as quickly, my Son feels it hard but he will grow and mature and realise Everton arent everything BUT They ARE Something to us all otherwise we wouldnt be on here!

It will be a dark day, if we go down, the darkest in Football memories for me, as I fear we will never recover.

I will still wake up next morning and stick some Elvis on and all will be well in the world.

The reality is we've been awful since Bobbys first season. We were lucky that we had an easy run in later on in that season to keep us up. Newcastle at home, Burnley, Southampton Qpr, Swansea and West Ham away. Moshiri has been a disaster since coming in and I'm quite surprised it's taken fans so long to realise how awful he is. The summer of 2017 was what killed us, anybody with half a brain cell would replace the man who you relied on for goals. Instead we haven't replaced him and here we are well done Everton. A list of the rubbish we have bought under Moshiri. Bolaise, Snides, Lookman, Williams, Klassen, Sigs, Keane, Tosun, Sandro, Bernard, Vlasic and the ridiculous decision to bring in an unproven Ukranian left back, because the manager doesn't like him, then sack the fella a few days later. The loss against Sheffield United last season was when I gave up on this batch of players.

I agree Moshiri has been awful, but you said yourself there that the decline set in before him. He came in at the end of Bobby's 3rd season. We were already on our way down.
