I said earlier we need to avoid a defeat and put Burnley right in it.

On reflection I think we better beat Burnley as they are the only type of team at this moment we'll get 3 points from.

We need to beat Burnley because if we don’t it’s opening the door for Watford. They look more capable of points than either of us at the moment and we don’t have a get out of jail card in Leeds or Brentford dropping like a stone.

Beat Burnley and we are 6 points clear of Watford…7 points clear of Burnley:..with games in hand.

Be a good time for a few of our players to pull their fingers out…

Be a tough game though…and one which I can’t help but think our weakness in defending set pieces will come back to bite us.

Pickford
Coleman Godfrey Branthwaite mykolenko
Docoure holgate Iwobi
Richarlison DCL grey

I’m terrified.

We don’t have much creative threat (nice one Benitez you fat kopite ming), have got no defensive shield in midfield and our back 4/5 is absolutely gash. Add to that our set piece record (front and back) and I fear we’re goosed ?

Shame Newcastle had that mass winning streak.

I thought they were pretty poor at Goodison, Chris Wood looks an awful fit for that team and they have a tough run in although winning at Norwich will likely be enough for them.

They have the manager for it. He's not daft. I fear him more than Dyche.

Newcastle are rubbish but strung a few results together, I washoping we could do that starting with our win against them.
We badly need a back to back, but I can't see we're from

We are so lucky this is not a 40 points for safety year. We'd be absolutely doomed already. Yet its completely still in our own hands.

Unfortunately the next game is the highest pressure game probably in 20 years and these players don't like pressure. Its enormous, and there's no point playing it down.
Biggest game since coventry

Swap Gordon for Gray and that’s my team as well. I’d rather not play Coleman but the three in midfield seemed to work and we might need Holgates height for set piece defence.

Luckily Watford still got likes of Man. City and Chelsea away. Closer than Burnley but much tougher run in and really it's all on their last five home games. Win three of them and they'll have a chance going into final day you'd think.

Shows the scale of the task though. Go into the final day of the season three points clear of Burnley (let's say the GDs are same as now) and they could easily scramble a 1-0 home win off Newcastle. Lose at Arsenal and that would be relegation regardless of what Watford do (they're away to Chelsea so 1998 vibes right there).

Burnely is the biggest game since that Coventry match. A win there would be critical. A loss and it's a big nail in the coffin. The idea that we will bounce straight back up is ridiculous. We could drop divisions like a stone in water. The stadium would cripple us financially.

This club better wake up from top to bottom.
