Blues,

Let's see if there's a place on GOT for this system to work.

Initially, it'll only be available for Forum Supporters. We'll roll it out across the forum soon.

I'm a tad unsure on it's stability - it's software a developer has produced that only exists on here, and one other forum that plugs into GOT and given traffic to the site is the lowest it'll ever be, now's not a bad time to give it a go.

No rep option in Current Affairs?

@RAFUH x

My interpretation of Danny’s opinion of the CA forum is something like a gift you get from an older relative that you didn’t want nor like, but have to keep so stuff it in the back of a spare room closet so you don’t have to see or deal with it.

The correct preposition would actually be round in British English, in American English it would be around, but both are acceptable.
No! No no no no no!
Not acceptable in British English! If for some reason it has become acceptable it is because I have been too soft, too remiss in the fight against lazy writing.

Around. It's a bugbear of mine that I normally don't comment on but verily since you're encouraging it, then that boil has burst so here's the puss! :D

If you go 'round' you become like @MarcelsGoat is often described.
You go 'around' to somebody's gaff.

As I say, when used as a preposition in British English it is 'round', but neither of them would be termed as incorrect. It really does not matter if you do not like it.

My dear old cheese - I just did, therefore, my the powers invested in me by logic, you must be wrong.

Honestly though - just because many use the word 'round' wrongly does not mean its use becomes correct. And don't give all that "language is evolving' excuse - that's just accepting defeat in the face of horrible grammar!

Would you be good enough to tell me which body is the supreme authority on British English then please?
