Compatability mode is only in IE 8 I believe...could be wrong, I don't pay much attention these days.

I just switched to chrome anyway. I like it a lot better, but there wasnt much wrong with IE.

In defence of the boys putting in the work on GoT, I'd say it's more down to IE's notorious lack of adhereing to (and making up of their own) web standards.
