Request for a current affairs forum

I appreciate that this is first and foremost an Everton related football forum, however I'm sure there's enough interest in having a current affairs forum under the GOT umbrella.

Save getting the Ale House clogged up with endless political arguments subsequently deleted - a dedicated forum, I'll even offer to moderate it

Mods, owners, debt-holders etc what's the view?

You're correct I have no right (no desire) to tell you what to do. But I do have a right to express a view and not to expect disruptive responses such as your own.

You have failed to answer why it is appropriate to be so disruptive in threads where you have no interest in the subject matter?

What do you think of the Osborne's claim yesterday that they have 'created 1 million jobs'? From what I can work out I think they maybe making things up.

It's called spoiling tactics -no attempt to add to any discussion that does not suit their own agenda and then rubbish people that may want to talk about current affairs. That is why it appears like primary schoolish, a bit like Suarez biting Ivanovic because he took the ball of them.

You cannot choose the people you work with, likewise you cannot choose the people that support the same team as you.

I don't know how you define an Evertonian. My husband, two children, and most of my in-laws are by any definition an Evertonian so perhaps I qualify by association.

Besides I hardly think my status as an Evertonian or not is relevant to the debate.

And this little bit was by someone asking if it was a good idea for there to be a current affairs thread. Maybe they wanted to know what other people that post on this forum think about certain issues that are current in the world.

Yeh do you post on there? Thought not because its rubbish.

Honestly dont see what peoples issue is.

We have had so much crap over the years that come from politics/current affairs that its not worth it. We are on this board because we support Everton- we are divided enough by that one thing let alone all the variables that politics etc bring.

People say how much they like this forum and how its run but yet so many want to try and change it all the time or push the boundaries of the rules.
