Please God, let's hope the family can now move forward. :(

They have shown complete dignity throughout this awful ordeal.

Sentencing of Sean Mercer due his afternoon.

RIP Rhys

Agreed. For some reason with all the bad going on in the world at the moment this one case still tears at my heart.

My prayers go out to the family and to young Rhys, God Bless.

Sean Mercers' mitigation is that he was only 16 when he shot Rhys.:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@:@

Barrister's name? - Pratt.

22 years !

still harping on about his relative youth.
What about Rhys's youth and the life that he will never have?

RIP Rhys. This lads parents might rest a bit easier now. The worrying part is that people were shielding this killer. We gotta get these nutters who carry guns and knives off the streets of Liverpool and everywhere else. A life time of hard labour is too good for them. They should be tied to lamp posts and let the victims family stone them to death.

Wonder what abuse you will get for posting that, I suspect none, but then, had I posted it...

Anyway, 22 years is an insult, he is 18 and has prime organs that could be put to very good use...

2 kidneys
1 liver
1 spleen
1 heart
2 lungs
7 or 8 pints of blood
bone marrow
skin grafts
pancreas
corneas

Plenty there for harvesting, imagine the good that could come from this murderers execution - how many sick and dying people could be given a second chance. yet in 22 years minus years for good behaviour, minus years for numerous appeals this killer gets a second chance.

Angry or Apathy - either you care or you dont.

to be honest mate I agree with you here, Murderers or anyone convicted of a serious crime should be put to death and their organs donated to people who need them.

RIP Rhys, but there's really no punishment big enough to get justice for what he did to a young child. I'm usually a strong believer in an eye for an eye, but in this case even that would be an easy way out.:(:(:(

Like the approach by Slight_Return and I hope the killer has a terrible life ahead of him.

He won't be a "soldja" in prison, the horrible, souless rat will hopefully endure a life of misery and fear on the inside,i hope every minute of every day is a living nightmare for him.

Lets hope the horrible **** rots along with his fellow cronies, and when they do come out lets hope they are hounded everywhere they go.

RIP Rhys.
