Rhys Jones' killer found guilty

This other man was stitched up by an undercover female officer, who promised him sexual favours to get him to confess privately to her that he had killed women. He ends up in prison for 18 months, wrongly - meanwhile the killer continues his psychotic sadistic spree of rape, murder and mutilation.
.

Thats not exactly right.

He wasn't "stitched up" and he never confessed, and that was not the point of the undercover work at all.

BBC NEWS | England | 'Cracker' misconduct charge dropped

Criminal psychologist Paul Britton was asked for advice by the police in regards to the Rachel Nickell case and their suspect at the time Colin Stagg.

Britton wrote a profile of the killer based on imformation given to him on the case and concluded that the killer would be one of a small minority (less than 1% i believe) who possessed a certain violent sexual fantasy involving knifes.

So they wanted to be able to find out if stagg fell into that small minority, doing so would of strengthened their case against him although would not of been evidence that he had committed the crime.

During communications with "Lizzie James" Stagg never confessed to killing Rachel Nickell. But he did introduce the use of a knife during sex into play and that he possessed those same violent fantasies that they thought the killer would of had which Britton believed meant he fitted the profile.

Seemingly oblivious to the fact that men say things to impress women in the hope of getting sex. It wasn't a case of her offering him normal sex then him saying he preferred violent sex using a knife.

He was most definatly guided in the right direction which is where the undercover operation went wrong in my opinion.

Although as it turns out its a bloody good job it did go wrong and was ruled inadmissible because we would have an innocent man in prison and probably still to this day a murderer on the lose.

At least now Stagg is free and Napper has been caught but this should of been advoided and even before hindsight that seems obvious from what we now know.

sorry, a few important details wrong.

still a stitch up in that the police focused on Stagg, ignoring a growing body of evidence about Napper, because they believed they had their man. Surely they are taught impartiality in weighing up and gathering evidence?

its good to see justice done for this appalling crime.

calls for torture, mutilation and murder of his killer are a bit much though.

The news today is that police missed massive amounts of damning evidence of a killer - whose attacks on young mothers when they were with their children, were so horrific that they drew comparisons with Jack the Ripper - because they KNEW that another man did it.

This other man was stitched up by an undercover female officer, who promised him sexual favours to get him to confess privately to her that he had killed women. He ends up in prison for 18 months, wrongly - meanwhile the killer continues his psychotic sadistic spree of rape, murder and mutilation.

Amongst the evidence that the "detectives" (who couldn't detect whether it was night or [Poor language removed] day by the sound of it) missed was his mother calling the police, telling them that her son had confessed to brutally raping a girl, - at his home they then found, knives, crossbows, a map of the local areas with rape locations marked out and a womens gym highlighted.

honestly, I [Poor language removed] ask you.

here is the story anyway: Delusional, depraved, terrifying: a murderer to match the Ripper - Robert Napper - Times Online

the guy originally inside could be dead by now if we had mob justice and a call for his organs to be distributed - and we'd be guilty of killing an innocent man.

The death penalty is an option not to be used lightly.

The guy stupid enough to confess to being a murderer? stitched up by the police? and now we are guilty of killing an innocent man?

pardon me, but absolutely not. how dare you.

just for you... look at the little girl in this picture, then get back to me...

ooh a pic of a little girl.

you win.

pardon me but weren't you banned for being a knobhead?

just for the record, SUITS BLUE, if you had bothered to read my post...I support the conviction of the murderer of Rhys Jones.

Just not the potential lynch mobbing of anyone accused of murder and rape, see my previous post and links. (and read them instead of frothing at the mouth and acting like a walking copy of the Sun on steroids)

my point was the incompetence of police, combined with a mob mentality and vigilant culture - that only brings atrocities in lieu of justice.

Sounds like you still stand by the above.

And for petty name calling, have your self a 'reported' :)

incompetence of the police - agreed
mob mentality and vigilante culture - bad thing - agreed
atrocities in lieu of justice - tough one, it appears we disagree on the word 'justice'.

and the little girl is apt for a host of very good reasons.

petty? you wrote the book.

and it was a question not name calling.

that is why you got banned isn't it?

your continued pursuit of me regarding you implying ...

"pardon me but weren't you banned for being a knobhead?"

has now got you another reported. bullying and victimisation are not tolerated allegedly, so lets see...
