Richarlison at Spurs

@GrandOldTeam looking at the replies alone, I don't think it's the consensus rather than some of their knee-jerk fans, just like we have.

It is going to be difficult for him because they've got high expectations due to quality they already posses, and the price will only exacerbate that.

Yet we know what he offers, so if he does that there then I suspect he'll make an impact. The question is if that'll be enough to appease their fan base.

If I remember correctly, I'm sure @Yid4life said he was playing well and improving each game, so perhaps he could give an update.

Why not? I'm not saying we should if the situation arises, but we should at least be open to the idea if the situation was right - e.g. price, performances etc.

Richarlison is a player who most fans felt a real affinity to, which I think was reciprocated by the player. I wouldn't be upset if he eventually chose to come back.
Because if that's an option it's because he's not done well at Spurs. Which means we've done extremely well to get the money we did. And this is a real possibility btw.

You move on. Reinvest in trying to find the next Richarlison, although hopefully cheaper to start and better.

The other part that I guess is still maybe too soon to say is he's just not that good. He's an above average PL player with good goal output and major weak points.

You could say the same about Pienaar when he left us, but even though he cost us £1.5m more than we sold him for he came back and did an important job.

It's a horses for courses situation: some players just click at clubs and I get that feeling from Richarlison. I may be wrong - we'll have to see.

The point is that I'm not saying we should go for him if he doesn't succedd at Spurs; rather, I'm saying we should at least be open to it if it's right for us.

I just have a different view on him clicking. I think it was a case of best of a bad bunch more than actually really good. I'd prefer the future was more about actually really good.

Someone has to score goals on a team. I think that applies to Cornet and Pukki who I've seen thrown out recently as well. Most teams aren't going to be so bad that they don't get at least 35+ goals and someone will have to score them. It's the same as how in the NBA someone is going to score points even if they aren't necessarily an elite scorer because it is still a pro team and they aren't going to have 0.

Point being I'd try to buy players that have more about them than just goals that sort of come from simply being in the box a lot over the course of a lot of games.

I'll be there tomorrow to watch him score a hattrick on his debut.
