Could you have found 2 situations that were less alike? AA went down due to its connections with the Enron shenanigans and the damage to its reputation. Not seeing the connection.
AA had directors, senior management and accountants hide evidence and obstruct justice. Oh and failed due diligence when receiving funds. IE fraud

Walshman bought players funnel monies and provide for their hometown clubs. And spent without completing due dilligence. IE fraud.

Dissimilar as you mentioned, but not that dissimilar.

I'm sure this is basically a conspiracy theory but I'd love to hear more. Do you have any sort of proof of this?

It gives me a reason to sleep at night, despite knowing we paid 45m for gylfi, 28m for Bolasie and 30m for a tin soldier.

And then there is the 24m for Klaassen, this one screams at me most.

Yeah I'm gonna say it's incompetence in scouting and negotiating that did it and not fraud. Example being Klaassen was reasonably highly rated and at some point would have left Ajax and been pretty useless wherever he went. It's just Walsh was the one who fell for it first and then spent too much

I must be missing something, has Brands got access to a pool of funds grown on a lemon tree? Last I checked, without sales we're ready to make another accounting loss.

There's money available, but we do have to sell as well.

We don't definitely have to sell to make signings, but it's unsustainable not to sell because of the squad sizes and wages.

Suggest it's a bit of a stretch to suggest they Koeman and Walsh were committing fraud. Incompetent perhaps, but doubt they had the nous to commit any fraudulent activity.

Think he will be a great addition and his production under Silva is really quite impressive when you take it in context.

I imagine the narrative around the signing would be a lot more positive if the 50m figure hadn’t been cited immediately, hopefully it’s the 35m + add ons that some have suggested.

Bet they are plotting right now.

Dastardly pair that they are.
No doubting that Thomas. And there's still the small matter of who set out to incense Marcel by cutting glory holes in the FF toilet cubicles. My take on it is that the perpetrator(s) had wind of Richarlison's imminent transfer and 'toilet-gate' was a deliberate sabotage exercise. Who did it?...no hard proof... but video footage showing Bainesy and Capt Jags bringing Black and Decker jig-saws to training is pretty damning...

He is worth at least 20m more because he's brazilian.

So theoretically its only a 25m player and Everton just paid 25m for Klassen to play in the U21s, can't be any worse.
