To be honest, I'm surprised there's still discussion about the fee.

£35m potentially rising to £40m is, in this market, pretty reasonable to pay for a very promising, 21 year old, pacey, strong winger who has proven he can score and assist in the Premier League.

I suspected he viewed Silva as a father figure. He said as much in his interview. Between fatigue and suddenly being a stranger in a strange land when Silva was sacked it's no wonder the boy struggled.

I mean, Liverpool just signed a good but not world class keeper for 66m and no one blinked an eye. Chelsea bought Bakayoko for like 40m last summer despite him being mediocre and no better than their existing options. City paid almost as much for a back up outside back in Danilo. 35m for Richy is very high but I suspect you’re correct.
