Thing is, no one actually knows what we paid for him 100% do they ?

His comments about wanting to play for Silva gave me a bit of a semi as well..

You'll do for me lad.

It seems the media change between £35m and £50m depending on how they wish to paint us at a given time.
Nobody knows the actual figure outside of Watford/Everton/agent.

Key thing that.

If Silva is here for the long haul with a bright new dawn then a 21 year old Brazilian who looks like he will only get better and better is a very positive platform to build from!

tbf most on here were claiming it was a waste of money, so the pundits were hardly out of step with the fan base when the signing was announced.
What you mean Kev is YOU thought it was a waste of money. There were probably a few like minded people on here who may have agreed with you, but I would hardly call it "most".

I've just looked back on his thread and went through the first 20 pages after his signing was confirmed, and only found a couple of posts questioning the fee.

Nice try though.

BBC rated a lot of this weekends debutants, Richarlison got a 8/10, same as Jorginho ( Moutinho got 7/10)
Wonder which kopite did the scores for this one?

Meh, I couldn't care less what the media thinks. In fact, I hope they whinge and moan about us at every opportunity and I hope we duly ram it back down their throats with wins and great football.

When I first saw him, he reminded me of Thierry Henry like @davek said.

He could be as good as Henry or even up there with Christian Ronaldo if he works as hard as Ronaldo does on and off the pitch.

I hope he stays as for a few years but if he does end up leaving, I think it will be for £100m+

And I'm not basing that on one game. It's the attitude he's shown as much as the ability he obviously has that makes me believe he will be a superstar.
