I'd have been embarrassed if we'd have had an opponent sent off for that challenge mate. I know I'm in the minority here, but I absolutely hate all the gamesmanship that's infiltrated our game.
Not by me, he wouldn’t.

Sorry

Karma’s a bitch though.....and the biter was bitten in t’ second half

That's fair enough,
I never really saw complaining to the ref as all that bad, in the same bracket as diving or cynical fouling for me.

His call-up is really good news. That'll be sure to give him a confidence boost and allow him to, hopefully, get a bit of footy over the break.

Agree with the baines bit. I despise the inconsistency in refereeing tho, literally the same type of challenge in the spurs game on moura, nothing given. They aren't even consistent in the same game so I can understand how baines could give him the nudge thinking its something he's probably gotten away with before so will do again.

Both baines and richi were silly mistakes but Christ the reffing is dreadful. Justification for sending of richi is surely based on that kind of thing potentially causing harm to another professional. Yet within the same game, and same referee two players smash heads together, one gets knocked out instantly and he waves play on allowing a shot on goal. Sure he wasn't to know Keane had a fractured skull but come on.

There's just no logic in reffing decisions or the laws of the game anymore. Was there really justification for 2 red cards in that game? Hardly a bad tackle all match but apparently there was reason to send off two players. Any sliding tackle now risks being a booking if there's any kind of follow through. You are out of control when you slide, because you're sliding along the ground and human beings weren't born with roller skates on, so technically that makes any sliding tackle susceptible to a red.

I just can't stand it, I love everton and watching and playing footy but the decisions are horrendous. It's not football anymore if you can't tackle and any kind of contact is a booking. Sure they need to protect the players but did the ref protect Smith from a fractured head with the headbutt. Yes he did, was there a genuine risk of that happening. Was there chuff. Did he react to protect Keane from a fractured head following a carcrash of a collision. No. Same ref and he will still be reffing again this weekend. It's a disgrace.
Totally agree with that mate, I was watching the game on TV and the commentator even talked about the game being played in a good spirit, despite there being 2 sendings off and a penalty. It was just rank bad refereeing all round.

The Baines thing is something that annoys me. If he gets away with that then you can guarantee the very same people who are calling it stupid would be saying it was really clever, 'showing his experience' etc. As you say, 9 times out of 10 that doesn't get punished. Personally I wondered if he'd given it because he thought the earlier one - Holgate on Wilson - might have been a pen but he didn't give it.

Great news on Richarlison being called up. Things like this are important I think, it shows players that you can get recognition playing for us.

All the lads who have ever been headbutted in their lives, I bet they wish it was Richarlison who did it!
When the Bournemouth lad came trotting over to confront him and put his head close, Richy should have took a dive.
Mug or be mugged in football today.

Probably would've been booked for diving... ;)

Remember when Beattie tried to butt the back of Makeleles head but got it wrong and got sent off anyway? Good times. My favourite red still stands at McFadden calling the ref an effin cheat. Never a truer word spoken.

I think McFadden claimed he never said that... Graham Poll misheard him. He heard cheat when McFadden was describing the decision as s***e. Poll was in the middle of a load of crap with the FA and Chelsea at the time and was on the defensive... retired pretty soon after that as far as I recall.
