Disappointed in him this season tbh. Runs down blind alleys and I can’t remember when he last beat a man and connected properly with a shot.

In the main he's been absolutely crap this season lets be honest. We all rated him as a 75m+ player last season, he looks like a Championship player at best this season.

Some absolute dreadful performances this season and if we are talking about us being crap with the ball, then he'd be one of the first who would need to be punted because far too many of our moves/transitions break down when he's near the ball.

The thing is, he is the one player that can score a classy goal, dread to think where we would be without him
Up to this season he was always inconsistent and decision making was suspect. This season he’s been average at best. Guess it’s not his fault people were hyping him as world class and because of this hype we probably expect too much of him, when realistically he’s average.

Another glaring miss. Some intelligence in brining the ball out form deep and building attacks. Puts in a shift and cant see how we do without him...

Weird partnership with Lewin, sometimes they look very insync then other times miles apart
Playing as a 2 benefits Richarlison but takes away Lewins game. Playing as a 3 benefits Lewin but takes away Richarlisons game. The question is, who do you hamper and who do you benefit?
Personally think the team is better suited and more effective playing 3 up

I think that nails it pretty much which is why James is so important as he can play RF or CAM which allows us to switch between the 2.

To be fair, James is the key component to us creating anything, but then Doucoure covering the gaping hole left by James is the key component to allow James to create. This is easier covered if James is (considered) in a "wide position", therefore Richarlison has to play on the opposite side, meaning we have to go 3 up top.
Which is a long winded way of saying - I agree

Thought Richy stepped up well playing Central whilst DCL was out injured. I'm not so sure we would necessarily see them in a 2 together so much if we had better / more squad options in wide and midfield positions. Rotation, setting up differently etc.

Agree fully. Would love to give Richarlison an extended run as the 1 central striker, however, as is, we would lose the quality of Lewin and replace it with Iwobi or Bernard - or be forced to play Lewin wide - none of which appeal
