2021/22 Richarlison

I'd get rid because he's not very good and we can make money from him, not because of his sulky face.

Does nobody else see him fall over his own feet, or constantly shoot at defenders legs, or almost always take the option? For me, he's one of the most frustrating players we have.

I don't doubt his work rate, but he spends half of the game rolling around on the floor and the other half giving the ball away.

He`s Brazil`s number 9 you loon.

The worlds current ranked number one team.

He also loves this club, it`s fans and the area for some bizarre reason.

I despair.

He's right though, and what you're saying is part of it. We have to look at our players as assets and with Richarlison we're reaching a point where his value could drop off rapidly. If he has a strong end of the year we should be looking to cash in and start looking for the next Richarlison. Preferably we'll find him at the stage Watford did and save ourselves a good 25m though.

Richarlison is one of the few players we’ve had in recent years who will very likely go onto better things and CL football but hasn’t bad mouthed us in the press or had a family member saying he wants to move etc.
Expect him to leave this summer but wish him well and I’m pretty sure he’ll be successful wherever he goes. (Not Newcastle though)

He’s 24 years old why the hell would we start looking for the next Richarlison when we have THE Richarlison and he’s not even at the age where players normally peak yet!?

Players peaks are around now, 24-29 (he's 25 in a month btw).

For me the question is essentially how good is he? If he's truly top class then you obviously hold on to him even though you've got to rebuild a lot of the rest of the team. This is essentially where Spurs were with Son and Kane.

But Richarlison isn't Son or Kane. He's not even Jota, who Wolves were happy to cash in on to their benefit imo.

What I want us to do isn't find the next Richarlison as in Richarlison now, I want us to find the next one that he was when he joined Watford at 20. And then I want us to actually develop him like we've failed here so instead of needing to move him on for cash we can instead keep him like a Son or a Kane because he's actually too good to lose. Richarlison just isn't that.

Reckon there's something Richy needs to sort.

He's looking for the lean.
He's worried that he'll be hit when out of the rub zone.
if he just plays, he is of body frame where just outside the rub things become a proper hit, than what goes on in the zone.
so he leans into it too often.

now if Richarlison just played, would he be protected
for all of the critique of his falling over, it is the refs that hold such responsibility for,
and why the line of diving becomes the come back, and part of the play.

maybe he could play CAM, he plays central, all ways looking to find what ever central space there is to receive in.
if he can know when to go with the flow players to ball, which he does well, and when to take that space
right through the middle, with Rondo perhaps giving him the protection
gordon and gray either side of him
with gordon optimally crossing for gray and richarlison to create the threat
with Richarlison often starting the attacking play from deep

Richarlison receiving the ball in space, and instead of being hit within the zone he is going to the zone, with the purpose to draw and pass and arrive
he is a much better player taking on opposition, as long as he can do the teamplay, he'll get back to scoring goals.
he can't do that when he's leaning in too much

maybe donnie backs richarlison up and delph or alan back up donnie
and dele as back up to richarlison
