It isn’t if your ambition is to stay 11th. We’re Everton, not Brighton.

He’s one of the few first teasers who has genuine European quality.

I get the sell and invest in young players to an extent but of whom, what, one out of three will go on to be a success? Need to keep at least some of our good ones
You keep the good ones once you have enough to actually compete.

Well looking at Richarlison's contribution at face value, I think he's averaged something like 10-11 goals in the league a season since he's been here. Some will say he's a lot more valuable than just his goals because of his work rate and the passion he shows playing for us (which is unarguable), however I'd argue that his all round game like his dribbling and general wing play is quite poor.

When it comes to replacing him, I think we will be able to get someone in with significantly better ability but lower work rate fairly easily, it's just a question of whether they can score roughly as many goals as he can. 10 a season isn't anything spectacular like, but we'll soon see I guess.
well name one or two realistic targets that you think is significantly better ?
The Hull lad supposedly has bags of talent, but seems simliar to Gordon being not the finisihed article yet.
Adaoma Traore has been vaguely linked due to his connections with Thelwell, but his goals/assists stats are poor.
Maybe Cornet from Burnley in terms of goals output
Lucas Moura is already 29, maybe. only in 2018/2019 did he score 10 goals in the PL.

hope Richy stays

Not them please, more other team cast offs.

This is the problem, too many fans think the club is bigger than it actually is. It’s not a big club anymore, 27 years without a trophy, never been competing at the top for decades, we’re are not looking for Europe next season we’re looking to stay up.

reports spurs have withdrew 100m of cash injection for transfers,i wonder if this has got anything to do with richi i think we could see movement this week

Precisely. However, you bring that reality to some and they won't accept it and will start accusing you of all sorts of things.
That said, we're not alone. MUFC, Arsenal, Spurs and to a lesser degree Chelsea have been left behind the top two. Then we have a whole host of clubs we should be able to compete with but the reality is that we spent a $hit load of money on crap and now we have to take the consequences of FFP and operating within our means at least for another season.
We cannot simply throw more money at it hoping for a quick fix pill. Been there, done that, failed.

Next season will be bad. We have the wrong manager, wrong set of players and poor ownership. Nothing has changed in the last few weeks and I don't see it changing before August.

West Ham went from battling relegation to Europe in a season. So too Leicester.

Really don’t think selling our most threatening attacking players is the way to either stay up or move into more stable position in the table.

Imho

….much depends on whether the player has expressed a desire to leave. In those circumstances it tends to happen.

West Ham have a big stadium, it’s a bad stadium but it’s big, they’re in London and have a bigger fan base than us atm.

Leicester fair play but they will fall back down like we are, we are not big enough to keep competing at the top.
