Could be a good test of how our Texan overlords deal with the Levy’s of this world.
Previously we’d have probably been bent over for a £10 loan fee plus his wages or something similar for 1 season.
If we can get him on a 12m loan (£5m) with obligation to buy for £35m if he makes 20 starts could see that being palatable for all.
That said, I just don’t think he will fit the profile they will be looking for.
£40m deal for 27 year old looks like writing of £40m in 4 years.
£40m on a 21-23 year old, different story all together.
