Big fan too but I'm forever damaged by kiev
Nonsense, they have no young talents who are on Deulofeu's level, same age group or otherwise...There's Gerard and then a dropoff until you reach players like Adama, Munir, Lee Seung Woo, etc.
Luis Enrique's position on it as well as the damage done from sending him into exile for 2 seasons will play a role but as even Roberto Martinez only recently confirmed, Everton will be powerless to keep the player from returning to Barcelona should they exercise the buyback next summer or in 2017...Moreover, Roberto confirmed the terms of the deal only allow for the buyback to occur in summer meaning the winter window is not a possibility
Sorry I know you have been warned about talking Barca but all I can say is this directly relates to Deulofeu so I hope it is let go.
I am afraid I think to quibble the "nonsense" remark, in no small fact for the reason that you mention 3 names who are in and around the same age as Deulofeu (give or take a couple of years) who are a similar prospect. I'm sure if you go a couple of years down you will find more players of that ilk.
I don't think it's nonsense therefore to assert that currently Barca have lots of very talented prospects. I am not sure there is a great necessity for Deulofeu to be added to that nor would there be a great desire for Deulofeu to go back to that.
Where there is a possibility is if Deulofeu can put a consistent run together this season that show that he could force his way in. He still has a long way to go for that though. I wonder if Barca may wait 18 months and look at bringing him in then, especially if he continues his development.
We are powerless to act if Barca want him. This doesn't negate the issues with Enrique though. We don't become any more powerless to stop Barca enacting his clause if they want him, it just makes them less likely to do so and Deulofeu probably a bit more unlikely to leave. Enrique has shown he doesn't completely fancy him so far, or at least he is not willing to persevere with him as a "prospect" for reasons above.
If he can get 15 assists in the premier league and half a dozen goals though this may make him view Deulofeu more as the finished product not as a potentially great player.
Roberto Martinez is kewl and Catalan
What part of Catalonia are you from?
Texas
Hahahaha.Thank you Roberto. Thank you so much.
