Roberto Martinez discussion

Ducking under the nyah-nyah salvos currently being exchanged on this topic, here's my tuppence worth on Martinez:
Pros -- He's got us playing some of the most attractive football I've ever seen an Everton side play and we're more than capable of battling any team when it comes to offence as the stats show. He's also building a young, talented squad and is determined to keep hold or at least get full value for our top players. He gets the club and what it's all about.
Cons -- He's not the best in terms of defence, but maybe the last three games are indications things might be improving. He could stand to make subs a little quicker; whether he doesn't out of being stubborn or loyal, I don't know. Some on here are zeroing in on his win percentage; I say look at the number of draws we've had and a lot of those are down to the team's youth and resulting inexperience in holding a lead plus his reluctance to make defensive subs. Both can be addressed with time.
Overall, I like what he's doing, but it's far from the finished product. Remember, the bulk of the team's best players are in their early 20s; let's see what happens in a year or so.

If he finishes bottom half, with that squad, regardless of a cup win, he should be ran out of the city with pitchfork.

It's a sad indictment on our diminished expectations as a club that he won't be.

The underperformance for 18 months now has largely gone by unchallenged, and it's why we're no longer a winning club.
He wont be because Stevie Wonder can see that we're developing a magnificent squad here that only maks sense with Roberto Martinez at the helm. Get rid of him and watch it all evaporate.

Thankfully the people in charge of hiring and firing are not the keyboard chairmen.

If you say so master

Cash flow(player sales) = Points(with suitable replacements) = prize money = cash retention = investment (Lowste's view)
I'm not trying to boss you about. Just a suggestion that was all.

Surely that argument collapses on your first point, if he can't get us going with Lukaku banging in the goals he's going to find it very hard to use (cash flow from his sale) to turn the cash into points.

I asked earlier even with unlimited funds how are Everton going to better Lukaku and Stones? So if he can't do it with this talent, what's he gonna do with lesser versions? It's not like either of the are bad eggs.

Surely not as that's all conjecture just like my points, but in my case I made it known instead of parading around an opinion as fact. And you could even rearrange to say cash flow = investment and we get our sheik because of our healthy financial position and from there you can do the rest of the "math".
