Roberto Martinez discussion

We're just not well setup for playing at home. Our possession football is prone to closing down, and our attacking nature prone to the counter attack. And we're too frail defensively to be able to shut things down.

Ironically, this is what makes us so much better away from home.

As much as I back Martinez and hate the culture of firing managers at the first instance the game has, it's hard to see how he will fix what appears to be a fundamental issue with his style of play. But I don't want boring either, so it's a no-win situation. Especially at home.

The only thing worse than how I feel now would be Moyes back. No disrespect to Moyes and his specific contribution to this club (stability and incredible ability to buy quality for buttons), but it would represent a real step backward. He has failed at two club since leaving here, he has demonstrated no belief that we are a team that can and should win things, and it would be a gesture of defeat on the part of both parties. Have no stomach to defend Martinez after that performance, and I'm interested to hear alternatives, but the Moyes shouts is just making me feel worse.

The Moyes shout is clearly down to having no other options.

Martinez needs to go...but there's no one out there.

We're not much better away from home either. Is it 1 win in 7 on the road?

The case against him is there for all to see.

We are definitely regressing as a club, the team don't even look capable of winning football matches right now. I'd actually put us down as dark horses for relegation considering our last 3 wins have actually came against the bottom 3 teams.

There's absolutely no game plan. The players go out there and basically just do what they like. Turning in and out on your own six yard box? Absolutely fine. Don't want to track your runner? That's not a problem either.

Anything we do well is just in spite of Martinez in my opinion. The good football we play isn't a byproduct of his management, it's just the fact we've got good players on the pitch.
I was defending Martinez early even before kick off but after that i think he should go, we were sooo lucky it was 2-1 as Howard fell on the ball as he was nutmegged. 1st we were terrible, 2nd half we gad all the play but never looked like scoring
